Add a homemade touch to a store-bought gift by wrapping an inexpensive candle in hand-stamped paper. This easy gift idea is the perfect stocking stuffer or small present. Plus, we'll show you how to make handmade wrapping paper.
Trim the stamped paper so you have a piece that overlaps around the candle, and leaves about 1 1/2 inches of extra paper on the top and bottom. With too much or too little paper here, the folding technique for a circular gift won't work as well.
Wrap paper around the bottom of the candle and secure with tape. Cut 1/2" slits in the extra paper and begin folding paper over the candle. Fold and crease the slits all the way around the candle, so the top of the paper lays flat; repeat this process on the top of the candle as well.
Cover the ends of the paper with paper circles. We used a 2-inch hole punch to create our circles, but you could use any shape that is smaller than the candle lid.
Try using patterned paper for a pop of color or adding a handwritten gift tag.
Attach a ribbon or bow to complete the project. Your gift is ready to give to a friend!
