1. Find a Mentor
As a budding entrepreneur or business person, you want to find someone you look up to and could imagine growing into. It could be a person who handles problems in the way you could imagine yourself handling them or someone who's business savvy you aim to achieve.
2. Be Persistent
Don't get discouraged. Things will inevitably go awry and veer off course. Know that you may be turned down, denied, or told "no", but that's not a reason to give up.
3. Accept It Will Be Hit or Miss
Networking events can be awkward but breaking the ice doesn't have to be. You can find common ground just about anywhere. For Kathryn, the food table can be a great way in. Strike up a conversation at the bar or name badge table, you never know where it could go.
