Sheryl Geerts is a freelance writer for and several other lifestyle brands. She is an expert in creating and editing gardening, food, and home content for national magazines. She thrives in driving reader engagement and building brand awareness.


Since her childhood years in 4-H, Sheryl has been utilizing her passion for gardening, cooking, and home décor to create mouth-watering produce from her garden, award-winning recipes, and easy home decor projects. Her publishing career began in 1999 when she achieved her dream job of working at Meredith Corporation. After several years of working in public relations and marketing positions at the company, she started her own communications business. Throughout the years, she has created and edited dozens of national companies’ publications, worked as the contributing copy editor for Allrecipes magazine, and even assisted in the Better Homes and Gardens Test Kitchen. Sheryl earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with an emphasis in advertising/public relations and journalism, as well as a minor in business administration from St. Ambrose University. She then went on to complete her Master of Arts in Mass Communication with an emphasis in integrated marketing communications from Drake University.
