Megan graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Horticulture. She has written books on growing trees and growing fruits and vegetables. She has written more than 200 articles for national print and digital publications on garden subjects ranging from the latest trends to growing unique houseplants to how to build easy garden projects. Megan regularly creates and styles garden projects for leading home magazines. A garden speaker in her local area, Megan share the joy of gardening with audiences large and small. She designs landscape gardens for local clients, focusing on natives and sustainable landscape practices.

She gardens on a farm in eastern Iowa alongside her three children, 34 chickens, 3 horses, and one black lab. Her husband, a 4th generation nurseryman, graciously brings home all the trees and shrubs she needs as she slowly converts cornfields to gardens. Megan has been writing about how to grow plants for more than 25 years.
