Charles Joly, along with restaurateur Matt Lindner, is the co-founder of Crafthouse Cocktails by Fortessa. A renowned mixologist, Charles Joly has received four James Beard nominations in addition to winning the James Beard Award for Outstanding Beverage Program. He has also been featured in People and US Weekly, among other publications. Charles is the go-to person for cocktails at the Emmys, the Grammys, and the Oscars.

Charles Joly has nearly two decades of experience in restaurants, bartending, and mixology work. He is the co-founder of Crafthouse Cocktails ready-to-serve alcoholic beverages and is the go-to person for hosting private celebrity parties or large awards shows as a private mixologist. His cocktail recipes appear in Better Homes & Gardens as well as in other publications, such as People. He also teaches master classes on bartending and mixology and works as a private beverage consultant and bartending host for special events.


Charles Joly graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and his entrepreneurial work also has taken place in the Chicago area. As the executive manager of Three-Headed Productions, a Chicago-based restaurant, Charles was able to open seven new restaurants and bars in several states. He also became well-known for his mixology work at The Drawing Room, fine-dining restaurant in the Chicago Athletic Association’s lobby. From there, he worked as a bar manager for The Aviary, another local favorite specializing in creative cocktails. Charles is certified as an Advanced Bartender from the United States Bartender Guild.
