Carrie knows how to produce and write approachable, seasonal, and delicious food content for the home cook because she is a home cook. In addition, Carrie frequently produces and contributes to BH&G's entertaining and party content.

Carrie is a longtime member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals and has served as communication chair, food-writing award judge, and annual conference presenter for IACP. She formerly worked as a copyeditor, and as a copywriter behind branded content for natural food, auto, and lifestyle brands.


CB has two bachelor's degrees from Iowa State University in magazine journalism and hospitality management. In 2013 she completed a master's degree from Drake University in communication leadership.
