As she developed her career, Carolyn learned to analyze a space and stage it as a form of storytelling. Her later work with House Beautiful in New York City and Paris, France, further refined her eye for decor as she worked with markets within the home decor industry to plan, select, and stage her own environments. Later on, she worked for Elle Decor and then Veranda while in Paris before returning to New York City as a home base. An expert among experts, she served as a lecturer, panelist and project director for Veranda before beginning her own freelance consulting business. Education Carolyn Englefield studied at the University of Ohio and earned a bachelor of arts in apparel and textiles. Her degree directed her toward the field of design where she expanded her knowledge through hands-on experience and travel. In her early career at Home & Garden, she was responsible for producing an environment worthy of a Cartier table setting. By the time she returned from Paris, she was supervising the entire New York decorating department for Veranda and acting as a senior liaison between the advertising, marketing and editorial departments. Her broad understanding of the industry and personal skill now informs her work as a creative consultant in the design industry.
