How to Make Grape-Glazed Almond Shortbread Cookies

-Today, we're baking a simple and delicious Grape-Glazed Almond Butter Shortbread. First, almond butter has a tendency to separate in the jar. So be sure to serve well before measuring it out. My trick to doing this is to use a fork. It really helps me get to the almond butter in the bottom of the jar. I'll start by combining salt and butter, the almond butter, brown sugar and salt. Beat the mixture on medium speed until combine. Next, add half the flour and continue to mix. Add the remaining flour to the mixture and stir to combine. Transfer the dough to waxed paper and pat into an 8x6 inch rectangle. Then cut the dough into 48 equal pieces. Roll the dough into balls then place then on a parchment line baking sheet 2 inches apart. We'll flatten the dough balls before we bake. My secret is to use a flat bottom measuring cup that has been dipped in flour. Pop the baking sheet into 325 degree oven and bake for 12 minutes. Time to add the jam. Remove the cookies from the oven and spoon a generous amount of jam over each cookie. Use the back of the spoon to spread it to the edges. Pop the cookies back in the oven for 2 more minutes. This helps set the glaze. While the cookies are still warm, top with sliced almonds and candies. Melts in your mouth, delicious.
