Tips for Choosing Kitchen Countertops
Countertops are a big ticket item in a kitchen. Use these tips to help you select the option that's right for your kitchen.
[MUSIC] When we were planning our budget makeover, I needed to make our money go as far as it possibly can. And the countertops were 1950s, laminate, like that formica countertop which was just so dated. And beat up, and ugly. And the back-splash was the same material. One of the things I wanted to do, was to give it a modern look. Lumber Liquidator's has Walnut butcher block counter top, and it's a nice two inch thickness. It's really inexpensive, it's such a bang for your buck. And this butcher block is super, super durable. I mean you have to, yes, maintain it, but you also have to maintain marble. You also have to maintain granite. I chose the dark walnut counter because it works really well with the black matte hardware within the kitchen and this dark walnut really adds a richness to it. But I think this adds more of like a modern, a modern take to a farm kitchen. So when you're doing your make over, do your homework. Especially when you're picking out your counter tops. There are many options out there at great affordable prices.
