Pretty Christmas Garland: Make It with Paper!

With a little bit of time and just a handful of supplies, you can make a pretty Christmas garland that costs just pennies. This holiday decoration will make your mantle extra merry.

Here's how to make a show stopping garland entirely out of paper. You will need a cutting mat, vellum and pearlescent cardstock, a pencil, a leaf template, scissors, a scoring template from, a bone folder, string, a round paper punch, red cardstock, white floral wire and a hot glue gun. Trace the leaf template onto both vellum and cardstock and cut them out. Using the scoring template from, which has been traced onto cardboard and cut out, score each leaf several times using a bone folder. Do this on a cushioned surface such as a cutting mat. Gently, fold the leaf along the score line. Repeat the process to make several more leaves. Using a hot glue gun, attach the stems of the leaves to a piece of string, alternating vellum and cardstock leaves. Using a paper punch, make several circles from red cardstock. Cut three pieces of white floral wire, fold each strand in half and twist it. Sandwich a piece of wire between two red circles and hot glue gun together. Twist three of the wire strands together to make a cluster. Repeat the process to make several more clusters. Using a hot glue gun, attach the berries to the box of every third or fourth leaf on the garland. Finally, hang your garland.
