How do you make your stuffing a showstopper? Give it a unique twist. Give it another dimension with two different kinds of bread. Think whole wheat with sour dough, cornbread and multigrain, white and rye or any of your other favorite combinations. Toss in some nuts for a little crunch. We especially love pecans, hazelnuts and walnuts. Bring out their flavor even more by giving them a quick toast in a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes before adding them to the stuffing. Think about fruit, both dried and fresh. Chopped apples and pears get just tender enough but add a yummy textural bite to a soft stuffing. Dried cherries, apricots or even plums give a savory stuffing and unexpected burst of sweetness. With stuffing this good, there won't be any leftovers.
