How to Cook Pork Chops with Maple Apples

Today, we're making a weeknight-friendly recipe: Pork Chops with Maple Apples and Onions. Begin by sprinkling both sides of the pork chops for salt and pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon of the Olive oil in a large skillet. Add the pork chops and cook for 8 to 12 minutes turning once halfway through. A thermometer inserted to the side, into the center should read 145 degrees. Remove from the skillet and cover to keep warm. Next, add 2 apples that had been cored and thinly sliced. One medium onion cut into wedges and 2 cloves of minced garlic. Cook for 2 minutes stirring occasionally. Add a quarter cup of apple juice and cook for about 4 more minutes or until most of the liquid has evaporated and the apples are crisp tender. Meanwhile, in a measuring cup, stir together a 3rd cup whipping cream, 1 tablespoon of maple syrup and 2 teaspoons of zipped fresh thyme. Add the mixture to the skillet and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until thickened. Serve the apple and onion mixture over the pork and enjoy. That's dinner in 30-minutes block.
