If you're getting ready for a vacation or business trip; gather your packing supplies a few days before you leave. Decide how many bags you're taking, many airlines charge extra for luggage weighing over 50 pounds and for additional checked bags. List travel items you need to bring include anything specific to your trip such as your passport so you don't forget it. Carry-on liquids must be 3.4 ounces or less according to TSA rules, pack them in a clear quart size plastic bag, include small containers for everyday essentials; shampoo, body wash, make-up and toothpaste. Prepare your carry-on bag by making room for important items you don't wanna put in your checked luggage. Remove unnecessary credit cards, gift cards and identification from your wallet. Pack the right clothes and shoes for your destination's weather. Clothes and shoes coordinating like multiple outfits save space and keep your bag light. Lay out complete outfits for every day of your trip; socks, underwear, scarves, jewelry and shoes. Bring an extra outfit for a special dinner or event. Tuck an extra t-shirt, pair of underwear and socks in your carry-on bag in case you have a flight delay or spill something on yourself. Decide what you'll wear the day of your trip, it's a good idea to wear the heaviest or bulkiest items rather than packing them to save room in your suitcase. If you're flying, wear slip-on shoes to save time in airport security. On the day of your trip, pack the last few everyday items like medicines, a contact lens case or cosmetics. Put essential travel items in your purse or carry-on. If you're traveling to a cooler climate, lay your coat on top of your packed travel gear then seal up the suitcase. You're all set.
