Travel List: What to Pack
Create a packing list of everything you need to bring on your trip. Here are essential items to pack in your carry-on, luggage, and more.
Make a packing list of everything you need to take and do before leaving for your trip. Break your carry-on checklist into categories. Start with important documents like your driver's license and passport if you're travelling internationally. Remember medications, vitamins, contact supplies and glasses. Don't forget your money. Include 1 credit card, and your debit card for cash. Gather some dollar bills for possible tips. List any chargers, back-up batteries and laptop extension cords as well as your phone and a camera. Power converters may be needed if travelling abroad. Don't forget toiletry and cosmetic items, reading material and travel sized snacks. Most outfits you'll need on your trip like any special occasion, workout or swimsuit items. Include any shoes you may need. Don't forget socks, pajamas, undergarments, a hair brushing comb, a travel hairdryer and any personal items. Make a checklist of things to do before you leave. Arrange for a house sitter and pet sitter if needed. Let a neighbor or friend know that you're leaving and when you'll be back. Give them a list of emergency contacts. Hold the mail and newspapers if you'll be gone for more than a few days. The day before your trip, take care of these household chores. Set timers on interior lights. Set the thermostat to cut down on energy use. Take out the recycling and trash. Run the disposal and the dishwasher. Unplug electronics that aren't search protectors. With your travel list ready, you'll feel more ease knowing you won't forget anything. Now it's time to start packing.
