Here are some other combos to get you fueled up before a workout, an apple and a handful of almonds. The apples got fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. And almonds have some fat and protein to keep you going while you work. A little bit of turkey and a small bunch of grapes are also great pre-workout snack. It's got just the right mix of protein carbs and it's low-cal. Or some celery with almond butter or peanut butter gives you protein and fat for energy during your workout. Just as important is what you have after workout to help repair muscle tissue and replenish glycogen stores like that in stores. It's all about a combo of carbs and protein. Have protein shake with a banana. A little hummus and pita is another great carb/protein combo. Or if you want something a little more filling, try tuna on whole wheat bread.
