Want an eye-popping addition to your Halloween party? Make these great big googly eyes. They're so much fun, and they're so cool to pop into all of your Halloween concoctions and potions, and they're very, very easy to make. The first thing you wanna do is you wanna make some meringue, and if you don't know a recipe for meringue, go to There's a few in there, but basically, meringue is just egg whites, vanilla, cream of tartar, sugar, and the trick to it though is you wanna make sure that before you start beating it, you let your egg whites get to room temperature. That way, they'll beat up nice and light and fluffy. So I've got my meringue already made, and I've got it here in a pastry bag. If you don't have a pastry bag, you can always use a heavy-duty plastic bag, and just snip the edge off and put your meringue in and it's the same thing, so either way. Now what you're gonna do is you're gonna start out with a little baking tray, and you wanna put parchment paper on it. If you don't have a parchment paper, aluminum foil is absolutely fine. So you're gonna take your pastry bag, and you're just going to make your eyes, and you can really have fun with this. You don't have to be too perfect. You wanna make sure that your 2 eyes touch one another, and the rest of the sets of eyes are about an inch apart. So I'm gonna make some ovals. You can make some circular ones. So once you've got your eyes on your parchment paper or your aluminum foil, what you're going to do is you're going to take some candies. You can use, these are, you know, just candy-coated chocolates. You can use any color you want, and you're just gonna pop it right in to the eyes like so. So you're actually making the little pupils. And then while I'm doing this, you've got your oven preheating at 300 degrees. Once you've got these done, you're gonna pop this into the oven for 10 minutes, and then you're gonna turn off your oven, and you're gonna leave them in there for another 40 minutes, and make sure you don't open the door because then you'll lose your heat and they won't harden up quite right for you. Once you take them out, they'll look something like this right here. How cute are these? I love these! Then, once they're all cooked up, they're nice and hard so they actually have some form and some body to them like meringue, and then you take some skewers like these guys, pop them into the center of your eyes like so. And then, you can stick them into all of your Halloween concoctions. So you can see why this is such a cool addition to your Halloween party.
