One of the things that we all look forward to in a holiday season is a delicious pumpkin pie. And this sure a beauty that is so simple to make. Hi! I'm Sandra Lee, and if you think that's gorgeous, wait until I show you how easy this is. It's a basic pumpkin pie recipe. So, you're just gonna start off with a can of pumpkin. Now to this, you're going to add milk, evaporated milk, a little bit of sugar, and some pumpkin pie spice. By the way, this recipe is available at bhg.com/recipes. Now, stir these all together, and what you want to add to these are your eggs. Now I'm putting 3 eggs in here, and you wanna beat these up first, put that right inside, and then I'm gonna stir this all together. Now for the pie shell, I have some great tricks for you. You know the store bought pie shells? Well, they come with 2. So the first one, I want you to go ahead and just place in a pie pan. Now if you really wanna create a beautiful decorative edge, all you do is take your finger and your thumb and your other forefinger and just go ahead and just push this like so. And that will make a beautiful rim every single time. And I like to place my pie pan onto a cookie sheet. But if you're not gonna use the cookie sheet, put this into the oven and then pour in your pumpkin pie mixture. Now go ahead, fill this up, and this is gonna bake off perfectly in a quick 35 to 40 minutes. Now, I want you to keep an eye on it because you don't want your fluted edges to get too brown. So if you check this about 20, 25 minutes in and then you see that it's browning, just take some aluminum foil and cover the edges here. Now speaking of great tricks that you can do with aluminum foil, I've just folded some aluminum foil up into a nice tight log here. And remember that second pie shell in the package that you've got at the grocery store? Well, lay that out and just take a little baby leaf cookie cutters and look what I've done. Just punch those out and you're gonna lay the dough over your log just like this, and that's how you get those gorgeous leaves to decorate around your pie. It is a perfect pie every time that's going to impress all of your guests. From everyone here at bhg.com, we wish you a very happy, healthy, and sweet holiday season. Bye bye.
