The perfect accompaniment to any of your holiday baking is nice, fresh-whipped topping and it is super simple to do if you know what to use. Hi! I'm Sandra Lee and I've got some great tips for you this holiday season if you wanna make nice, fresh, homemade-like, whipped topping. Now, you wanna start off with just some heavy whipping cream, nice and ice cold. You wanna put that into a deep bowl. Now, what's great about whipping cream is that it's very forgiving unlike meringue. So, when you wanna add your sugar to it, it is super simple and you can do it at any time. As your whipping cream starts to froth up is when you wanna add your sugar. Just sprinkle it in. Now, you're gonna beat this until you see nice fluffy peaks, just like this. And by the way, if you over-beat it, all you have to do is add a little bit more cream, stir it in, and it'll smooth it right out for you. Now, to your whipped topping, when you make this, you can also embellish this with some different flavors. If you like cocoa, that would be brilliant for chocolate-whipped cream. Just make sure you put your cocoa through a little sieve like this so that the clumps come out. You can add ginger. You can add orange rind. You can even add brown sugar or a little bit of vanilla or maybe some almond extract to this to add flavor. If you don't have time to make your own whipped topping, you can certainly take a packaged product like this and just embellish that with a little bit of maybe almond extract, vanilla extract, or peppermint extract for the holiday season. They are great on desserts and on cocktails for the holidays as well. And from everybody here at bhg.com, we wish you a happy and a healthy holiday season. Ba-bye!
