-A good ventilation system takes all the tinny particles of grease, steam, odor, and heat out of your kitchen. I'm Linda Eggerss, editor of Kitchen & Bath Ideas magazine, and I'm here at the annual Kitchen and Bath Industry Show where I'm gonna show you ventilation systems that make your kitchen not only safer but more beautiful. -This contemporary range hood from Best by Broan features an inclined tempered glass canopy with blue LED accent lighting. It also has a sensor that detects excessive heat and automatically adjusts lower speed to high. The Neptune bath ventilation with light operates at two speeds. It quietly removes steams and odors and boasts a night light feature. This contemporary stainless steel ventilation hood from Vent-A-Hood comes with a Magic Lung blower that captures 99% of cooking contaminants. The hood also aids storage. The bars on the side of the hood are designed to hold hanging utensils. The space-saving Mini Om ventilation systems from Elica are wall-mounted. They are one of the quietest vents on the market even on the highest setting. The Mini Om comes in six designer colors. The Faber Matrix wall-hung ventilation system has an angled design that catches more grease, odor, and smoke than if it were mounted flat against the wall. The Matrix has an automatic timer for delayed shutoff. The filters are easy to access and dishwasher safe. This high-speed rangehood from Sirius boasts whisper quiet technology, and the vents around the arch have a charcoal filter behind the aluminum mesh so it can recirculate air instead of having to vent it externally. In the Broan booth, we found some great bath vents. Broan's new continuous ventilation system intermittently turns on to vent stale air out of the house. It also functions as a regular shower vent to eliminate steam in the bathroom. The 36-inch Masterpiece downdraft ventilation system from Thermador rises to 14 inches, the highest in the industry, and the recirculation module doesn't require any ductwork. It simply recirculates air and releases it through the cabinetry toekick, making it a great option for islands or difficult-to-vent kitchens. The dcor integrated ventilation system allows you to customize the canopy hood around the unit making it possible to match the style of any kitchen. The system also has variable blower controls, bright halogen lights, and removable easy-to-clean filters. This contemporary glass canopy island ventilation system boasts a powerful motor but is very quiet. The sensor touch panel controls the speed of the ventilation and includes a three-minute delay shutoff. The new Arc collection from Zephyr includes three styles of ventilation hoods, all of which turn on four times a day to recirculate air and keep the kitchen fresh. The Layer system is very geometric. It has a ceiling mounted chimney and a flat, slim hood. The Horizon system has an ultramodern look. It is wall-mounted with a gentle curve in its sleek design. The Plain system has a wall-mounted stainless steel chimney and an angled glass hood that comes in black, white, and red. -All throughout your home, ventilation makes a big difference in the quality of your life, and those are my hot list picks for ventilation.
