" Here's an all-time holiday family favorite, green bean casserole, but with a brand new twist. Now, I've just started caramelizing my onions in a little bit of butter. This is gonna be great on the top of your green bean casserole instead of those old fried onions that you get in the can. What you wanna do here though with these caramelized onions is just put in a little bit of bread crumbs and stir this through. This is gonna make a nice, yummy, crunchy top. I'm just gonna set these aside now and let's talk about our green beans. These are frozen green beans that I thawed and I've cooked to the package instructions. And to these, I just wanna add a can of cream of mushroom soup. This adds great flavor and texture, and also to this, I'm gonna add a little bit of just plain yoghurt. Then some pimientos go in here. This is gonna add a lot of pizzazz to your green bean casserole, and you wanna stir this up and combine everything completely. These pimientos are not only gonna add great flavor but really pretty holiday color. Now, this goes into a nice baking dish. By the way, this recipe is available at bhg.com/recipe. Just evenly distribute this around your baking dish. Now, on the top of this goes your caramelized onions with those bread crumbs. These are gonna get nice and crunchy, and that butter is gonna add great flavor. You just pop this into the oven for 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees and you are gonna have a great green bean casserole on your table in no time. I'm Sandra Lee. And from myself and everyone here at bhg.com, we wish you a very healthy and happy holiday season!"
