" Homemade candy is such a treat! And this one is so simple and beautifully colorful. For great family fun, get the kids involved. I'm Sandra Lee and this is a great idea for this holiday season. All you have to do is just take some chocolate chips and melt them down in a saucepan. Now, you wanna add a little bit of shortening to those chocolate chips to make sure you get a nice beautiful sheen. Now, we're gonna pour that on to a baking sheet that's been covered with aluminum foil and then I want you to spread this out just a little bit. Now, don't make this too thin because you have to break it up later. Do the same thing with a bag of white chocolate chips. And with this one, I just want you to drizzle it right over the top. Now, with a butter knife, come on in here and just spread this around creating beautiful swirls just like a professional would do. Now, for extra special treat, I've chopped up just some peppermint. Look at how easy this is, to just sprinkle this over the top, just like that. Now, to set this quickly, just place it into the freezer for about 15 minutes. And look at how gorgeous this is! You're simply gonna come in here and break this up and put it into a beautiful platter. This is a great treat to have around the holiday season when unexpected guests drop by or if you just want something sweet to munch on. And from everybody here at bhg.com, we wish you a happy and a healthy holiday season!"
