Removing a Cake from the Pan

" Before trying to remove a cake from a cake pan, first let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Run a thin-bladed knife or a metal spatula around the edges to loosen. Place a wire cooling rack over the cake in the pan and invert. Lift off the cake pan."
