Pumpkin Centerpiece

" Put pumpkins on a pedestal this holiday season to showcase Fall's bounty, but the secret to this idea is what's inside the pumpkin. So what's inside of my pumpkin is actually a vase. So, what you're gonna do is you're gonna find a vase that approximately fits about the right height and about the size to fit inside of you pumpkin, and you're gonna stuff it with some soaked floral foam like I stuffed this one right here. Then, you're gonna carve your pumpkin like you normally would and scoop out all the stuff inside, so you've got a hollowed out pumpkin, and I happen to have one right here that's hollowed out and actually has the vase inside as well, and this floral foam, I just kind of jammed in there. You don't have to cut it and fit it perfectly, and again, this floral foam is totally soaked. So, to make my arrangement, I just did a little walk around my neighborhood, and I found some cool fuzzy things and lots of little berries all in fall colors to make the arrangement like really really perfect for the holidays. You can get this at any craft store. So, when you're putting in your plant material, you wanna make sure you start out in the middle. Start out with the tallest, the highest stuff and then work your way down. So, I'm gonna kinda fill in these guys right here, then we put some here. I love these fuzzy ones. There're so cool, and there are so many grasses that have these kinds of fuzzy flowers. Kinda put this in here. Okay. And then, I'm going to use some of these more weeping berries to sort of drape over the sides of my arrangement like that, and then, of course, I've got a ton of fall leaves that you can just pull off of trees or find them on the ground. This is a great project to do with kids because it's just such a great way to spend time with them. Go on walks. Pull, you know, lots of plant material together, and then, it's great for them to see. You know. Hey! You can make something really beautiful out of this stuff. So, you're just gonna kind of keep filling it in 'til your heart's content, and then, you should have something kinda like this when you're done, and what you really need to do to this to make it stand out on your table is you wanna put it on a pedestal. This pedestal is basically just a candleholder. I bought it at a home store for less than 20 bucks, so I'm gonna use this and put my arrangement on this. You know, if you don't have one of this candleholder pedestals, you could use a cake stand. You know, there're tons of things around the house that could serve this purpose, but an arrangement like this definitely needs to be off the tabletop, so it can really be appreciated."
