" Can you believe that one technique created all of these cool looks? Well, at the core of this technique are these little cores here that I made out of my pumpkin using this, an apple corer. And this is basically used to just core apples, but here, I'm using it to core my pumpkins and I also cored some eggplant, some white pumpkins, and some squash. So let me show you how I did this. Basically, you take your core and you just wanna grip really firmly on it and kinda start twisting it around, like that, and it'll start carving right into your pumpkin until you'll go all the way through, like that. And what's left here is the plug that you're gonna use to make all these cool patterns. So when you push it out, you wanna be careful. You don't wanna push it from this side because that's the sharp edge. You actually wanna push it from here, and there you got out your little plug. Now, you wanna make sure that your pumpkin is hollowed out and I actually hollowed this one out and cleaned it out from the bottom just to preserve my nice pristine pumpkin top here. And if you wanna core out different colors or different types of squash, I recommend cutting little slices like this and actually pouring it on a table so you'll get a little bit more leverage, just a little bit easier and make your core like that. And there we have it. So, now that I've got my little hole there, I'm actually gonna plug it up with one of the cores I made from the eggplant. Just stick it in like that and you can make cool polka dot patterns like this or you can even paint your pumpkin black, like this one, and fill it in with all different kinds of plugs or this idea, I think is super neat! You can use a wood carving set. You can get it at any craft store and kinda etch a pattern. I etched some flowers in here and use one of the plugs to make the center part of the flower. This is such a cool and versatile idea that'll keep your pumpkins looking beautiful all fall long."
