-Learn how to gold leaf and add sparkle to your décor with this easy technique. Here's what you'll need: the object you'd like to gold leaf . We're using a vase, a top cloth, gold leaf adhesive, 2 foam brushes, gold leaf sealer and sheets of gold or silver leaf. Prep the vase. Wipe off dust with the top cloth. Apply a thin, even coat of adhesive with the foam brush. Let it sit for 30 minutes or until the surface is tacky and the adhesive changes from white to clear. Carefully apply gold leaf to the object's surface with your fingers. Gently rub the gold leaf into place with your finger or foam brush. Continue these steps until the surface is covered overlapping sheets if necessary. When the entire surface is covered in gold leaf , use a foam brush to remove excess flakes. To finish, seal the surface and let it dry for at least 5 hours. You can gold leaf many ceramic, paper, glass and wood surfaces. Get ready to shine. -
