Jewish families gather each night of Hanukkah to light candle on the menorah. Other traditions include the exchanging of gifts and feasting on foods such as our nut horn cookies.
1. Beat 1 cup margarine for 30 seconds. Add 2 tablespoons sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Beat in sour cream and egg yolk. Combine 1-1/2 cups flour and 1/8 teaspoon salt; add to beaten mixture. Stir in remaining flour. Cover; chill.
2. Combine nuts, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup margarine, and cinnamon. Working with 1/4 of the dough at a time, on a lightly floured surface roll into a 10-inch circle. Spread 1/4 of the nut mixture over circle. Cut circle into 12 wedges. Roll up each wedge, starting at wide end. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes. Cool on racks; roll in sugar. Makes 48.
