For years Park gardeners asked us to stock the Yellow Lilac, and we didnt think wed ever find a good, reliable grower here in America. Very popular in Europe, Primrose is tough to find this side of the Atlantic, so we are absolutely delighted to announce that we FINALLY have good, reliable, get-up-and-grow stock that will take off in your zone 3-7 garden. And the best part is that the pastel yellow color actually deepens and grows more intense with age, giving you a more spectacular show with each passing year! Originally introduced to the world in 1949, Primrose bears numerous graceful, yet dense panicles of pastel yellow flowers in mid-spring. Such a sensation did it create when it was introduced that it won a Royal Horticulture Society Award of Merit in 1950 and has never looked back, continuing to be the pride of many a garden! Handsome and compact, this shrub reaches just 10 feet tall (at most) and anywhere from 6 to 12 feet wide. Instead of big growth, it concentrates its energy on producing the stunning blooms! Space the shrubs 6 to 12 feet apart in an airy location with full sun and well-drained soil. A yearly top-dressing of mulch, preferably well-composted manure, is beneficial. Zones 3-7. Cannot ship any Syringa to AZ. read more
