We searched the globe for a completely eco-upholstered bed. In the end, we collaborated with our favorite woodcrafter and came up with this clean-lined original. Our goal was a bed that is 100% friendly to both sleeper and environment. We c...hose the most practical, earth-friendly soy-based foam cushion available, rather than the synthetic, petroleum- derived microfiber normally used as headboard filler. Its fire retardant is organic, not dangerously toxic halogen. We've covered that padding in fine hemp as soft and tightly woven as Belgian linen. Reclaimed from razed buildings, the bed's vintage Douglas fir frame displays those noble scars that add character in aged wood and cannot be duplicated in new timber. If you wish to use as a platform bed (without a box spring) please add the platform converter kit to your order. Platform slats are custom made for your bed and must be ordered at the same time.
