Each chair is constructed from tight-grained eucalyptu...s with an oil-rubbed finish. Eucalyptus is naturally resistant to insects, rot and weathering, as well as only requiring an oiling once each year to maintain its color and finish. Each chair weighs approximately 10 lbs., and features a slat seat and back, and can be easily folded for storage when theyre not in use. These chairs are built using wood farmed from sustainable forests in Brazil, and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Assembly is required. If left untreated, each piece will weather to a nice shade of gray. The weathering process will change the color, but the grain will still be smooth. There is no splitting or splintering. You may treat each piece of your set with teak oil to prolong weathering.
