All the others are still running. This mower is in again 3rd time in 25 months. Yes 25 months so this time no warranty. Very hard to use when running because of added battery weight. 3rd time in 25 months. It's had drive issues, starter issues and now I'm about 25 days past warranty and engine is flooding out. Only second time we used it after repair in late October but since past 90 days, it sat all winter, no warranty on last repair. Last Craftsman I buy. by Oly1Olympia, WA | Sun, Mar 30, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 1 visitors found this helpfulVerified PurchaseGreat mower! Love everything about this mower. Still very happy even now that the mowing season is over. Here is a couple of things I really liked, The power, the electric start is very nice option, deck cleaning port plus its easy to change the height when needed. I found this at the end of the season in wisconsin and got a great deal. What sold me is the construction of the rear wheels. They were flimsy on my previous model, but are quite solid on this one. Runs great, starts easy, a little more powerful. This product: Craftsman 21" 159cc OHV Engine, My Stride Rear Drive Self-Propelled Lawn Mower $369.99 11 visitors found this helpfulVerified PurchaseSeems like a great mower I am 55 years old and owned a lot of mowers, this seems to be one of the coolest I have ever owned. First, I shopped all around for a month then decided the MyStride was the main reason to buy this mower and I was right. Took it out of the box, added oil and gas, started on the first easy pull. Started it 5 or 6 move times and everyone in the family had fun walking (not pushing it) around the yard! I would give it 5 stars but one of the hubcaps fell off almost immediately, I was able to secure it correctly to the wheel, but that should not have happened. I read the reviews on this and decided that they couldn't all be that bad and I found this as a floor model clearance with a great discount so I bought it. This is probably the first ever Craftsman product that I'm truly unhappy with. Pros: Starts easy on first pull every time, even right out of the box! Goes fast when you want it to and slow when you want it to. Deck wash-out feature is nice (although I'm sure most other models have that too.) Cons: Really, really small bag and small chute that clogs up very quickly and has to be emptied about 3 times on a small sized front/back yard. Wider rear wheel track makes turning and getting close to fences, poles, etc really challenging and I can see the sides of the mower wearing more quickly as a result. Seems to have plenty of power but in think grass it requires a 2nd pass over to get extra grass that didn't get cut the 1st time. Truly a waste of time and money. I would stay with a Craftsman mower next time but get a different model. Went to adjust mowing height and one of the front levers was bent, wouldn't "catch". Mower started on first try but ran for only 3 seconds or so. This continued.. never ran for more than 5-6 seconds. I bought it 2 years ago. I used it maybe 4 times and it would not start. Took it in for repairs. After having it repaired used it maybe 5 times same problem. Off to the repair shop again this time had to pay $100 to get it fixed had it about two weeks same problem. Would not start after buying a new gas cap and filter $10.00 was able to get it started, ran for about 2 hours before stopping again. At this point I am done. I will never buy another craftsman (Sears) more or product of any kind. Very disappointing and frustrating by DisappointedCliffHighlandville, MO | Tue, Aug 13, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 1 visitors found this helpfulThis is the worst Craftsman mower I've ever owned!!! ...and I've owned several. 1) The drive system is way too fast. It move the mower so fast that the blade can't cut well in tall grass and the bag stops filling because the chute is clogged. It needs a drive speed adjustment or different gear ratio. 2) Belt is difficult to replace. It requires you to remove 2 baffels plus the blade to remove. 3) Belts comes off to easily. The slightest amount of belt wear allows the belt to jump off the front pulley. 4) Stupid star shapes hole in blade hub means you can't use generic replacement blades, instead, you get to pay 50% more for a special blace from Sears.. It took him forever to cut the lawn and his back ached terribly from pushing afterward. Now that he's using this new lawnmower, and even though it's a smaller lawnmower, he's cut the time it takes to mow the lawn in half and he's not complaining about his back (as much - he does have a bad back). Anyway, he's happy and that's what counts. I've replaced and cleaned everything I can. You can't fix the carburetor if that is the problem, as it is sealed away. The only option is to drag it in for service at a minimum of $85. The front wheel drive is fairly useless, it's slow and the wheels don't grip into the grass very well. The bag gets half full in no time and starts clogging the blade and spewing grass all over. by asdfhrtLe Mars, IA | Wed, May 22, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 1 visitors found this helpfulDoesn't mulch well, under-powered. I had just bought a new Toro self propelled mower from HD that had vairiable speed self propel feature that did not work well at all. I returned it after two uses because the variable drive would just quit working after a few minutes of use. I then went to my local Sears store and bought this mower because it was the only one sears offered with single speed self propel feature ( I know this works because I am replacing my 9 year old Single speed self propeled 21 inch Craftsman due to age). This mower works just like the proven machine that it is replacing except this one has a little less power than the old 6.75 model that I had. It works well though and I like the ability to prime the engine unlike the other engines currently offered at the store. I do recommend this item, however, I would have been more interested in a Craftsman front drive single speed mower with a BandS 6.75 engine for a bit more money! I needed a new lawn mower for a good price that would mulch or bag. This lawn mower fits the bill. This is my first Self Propelled mower! It does all the hard work, and I actually look forward to mowing the lawn. This is a 3 in 1 mower and I knew how to bag or mulch, but never used a side discharge before. I found with the Side Discharge the mower cuts down thick and tall grass with ease, and one run down the sidewalk when you're done blows ALL the grass clippings up on the lawn - no need to sweep! I am so glad I bought this Lawn Mower, it is Sweet! I wash it each time before I put it away.
