The Air Plant Xerographica (zero-grafika) is among the largest in the Air Plant family and is sometimes referred to as the King of... the Air Plants. Xerographic as have elegant silvery gray leaves that begin broad and tapper taper to a point. The minimum size we ship is 6 inches wide for a tightly curled plant, with the average being 8 inches wide. As the Xerographica settles into its new home and grows it can exceed a foot in width. Their rosette appearance makes them popular centerpieces. Their unique features and origins make them great conversation pieces. Air Plants (Tillandsia) get their common name from the fact they don't require soil. They are epiphytes, which attach to other plants or trees for support. Their roots are only used to anchor themselves and are normally removed during cultivation for aesthetics. They are not parasitic, instead they gather micro nutrients from the air and water in structures called trichomes on their leaves. As the plant dries the trichomes take on a white powder look. After watering the plant will return to a vibrant green. Air Plants must dry fully between watering because they are susceptible to rot if left wet to long. Xerographic as come from dry forests in higher elevations of Central America. They also make their home higher in the forest canopy than most Air Plants so they prefer a little more light and a little less water than others. read more

The best tasting of the ever bearing strawberries (and a great-tasting berry, period), 'Evie' produces a large crop of medium-size..., firm, deep red fruit over a long period. Its superb flavor makes it an excellent fresh-eating and dessert berry, and its firm texture ensures that it also freezes well. 'Evie' is a much better tasting and producing berry than 'Ozark Beauty'. It is excellent for the garden, strawberry jar or patio pot. From a spring planting you'll get a late crop the first year and a full-season crop there after. Plants are resistant to red stele and verticillium wilt. read more

Air Plant (Scaposa Kolbii) is very similar to the Ionantha (most common Air Plant) in size and appearance. So much so that they ar...e often confused for each other. The difference is that the Ionantha normally grows into a round shape, the Scaposa tends to have more of a windswept shape. This plant ship between 2 and 3 inches and will grow taller, but not much taller. As the plant comes into bloom the silver green will give way to pink and red at the leaf tips, then it will have a pretty spectacular pink, purple, and white bloom. The Scaposa is a little hardier than the Ionantha and will forgive a few missed waterings. The Ionantha Scaposa Kolbii 15 plant set contains: 15 plants, 8 oz. Hinterland Trading Air Plant Fertilizer, and detailed care instructions. Air Plants (Tillandsia) get their common name from the fact they don’t require soil. These Air Plants will only bloom once, but after the bloom they can form up to 12 “Pups”, or offspring, at their base. The main plant will slowly be on its way out, but the Pups will continue to thrive and will separate when mature. Air Plants prefer filtered sunlight as their natural home is under tree canopy. Some of these Air Plants will only bloom once, but after the bloom they can form up to 12 "Pups", or offspring, at their base. The main plant will slowly be on its way out, but the Pups will continue to thrive and will separate when mature. Air Plants prefer filtered sunlight as their natural home is under tree canopy. Upon arrival give your plants a good hour or two soak in a shallow bowl of water. Our plants are shipped on the drier side to avoid rot while in transit. Just remember the best thing you can do for your plant is to let it dry completely between watering. Air Plants like as much filtered sunlight as they can get. Xerographic as are especially light hungry. They do like sleeping as much as we do so at least 6 hours of darkness per day will work and 10 would be ideal. As tempting as it is, use your Hinterland Trading Air Plant Fertilizer sparingly. Just a few pumps every other week when watering. Brussel's Bonsai
$29.99

With small, round leaves and large, pink flowers blooming from May to June, this broadleaf flowering bonsai is packed with stems f...or a gorgeous late spring show. Though the Satsuki Azalea has just one flower per stem, the shrub has so many stems that during the flowering season they are a solid mass of color. Grown in Japan for centuries, the Satsuki Azalea's graceful trunk movement adds distinct shape to the patio, deck or garden. This particular bonsai is 5 years old and stands 8 inches tall. Although evergreens can be displayed indoors for short periods of time, they need to experience seasonal changes and should be kept outside year round. Brussels grows specimens only under carefully controlled conditions, meticulously training each tree with wire and pruning over a period of years. If upon the tree's arrival some leaves have dropped or turned slightly brown that does not mean the bonsai is unhealthy. Defoliation is the natural result of being in the low-light environment of a shipping box. When you receive your tree, place the box in a shaded area to unpack. Inspect tree for damage to branches or leaves. Water soil if dry, and place the tree in shade for at least one week before moving to a sunny location. What is a Bonsai? Literally, the Japanese word "bonsai" means "tray tree" or "plant grown in a pot." The term refers to the artistic techniques used to capture the natural beauty of trees, rather than a specific variety of tree. A full-grown tree and a bonsai can be grown from the same seed--the bonsai has simply been dwarfed and shaped through years of training. For more information on care and training visit Brussel's Bonsai on the Web. read more
