Nesco Nesco Professional Food Slicer

Combine the elegance of European design with the performace of a professional food slicer. The slicer features a 150 watt motor and a German-Manufactured solingen 7-1/2 in. stainless steel undulated blade. It has adjustable thickness contro...l, which creates consistent slices ranging from deli-thin 1/32 in. to 1/2 in. The non-slip feet keeps the slicer securely in place when in operation. The heavy-duty die-cast aluminum housing makes it durable for years to come. I bought this from a different source for about $10 more than K-Mart, who didn't have it 'in store'. I LOVE it! I often buy large beef or pork roasts, chicken or turkey breasts and roast them. Then slice the left-overs for sandwiches. Works great for slicing boneless hams, deli-thin, too! At the deli, I usually buy a 2" thick chunk of sandwich meat that I like, when on sale, or a stick of summer sausage, and slice it thin. Just a tip: For roasts, put them on a rack and drain off all the juices while they are still warm. Dry meat slices a lot easier, with less clean-up mess? The blade on this unit is easy to clean, but it is sharp. The blade cleans easily in hot soapy water with a hot-water rinse. The table on the machine cleans up easily with a sponge. Not just for meats, either! Slice vegetables, such as potatoes thin to make your own fried potatoes, or slice onions for burgers into thin manageable slices. Tomatoes? Beautifully even 1/4" slices! My unit has a permanent place on my counter, since I use it so often. It's not great for slicing cheeses. If you want to slice a hard cheddar, if you spray the cutter with vegetable oil (Pam) it worked pretty good? The harder the cheese, the better it worked. A loaf of Velvetta processed cheese was a sticky disaster! Highly recommended. I've been around the Nesco brand since I was a kid in the 1950's, and own a Nesco roaster which I bought in the 1970's, which is still used often. I would recommend this product to a friend. by Over-the-hillMedford, WI | Tue, Feb 11, 2014 via Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 9 visitors found this helpfulNesco Professional Food Slicer I received the Nesco Professional Food Slicer as a gift from my son. I am very happy with this slicer and works great for slicing meat, bread, potatos, etc. For the price it is top quality and works very well for home use and cleanup is a snap just pop the blade off and rinse in hot water. Only down side was I had a hard time slicing a block of cheddar cheese. otherwise it is great and well worth the money I payed for it. I would recommend this product to a friend. by ken19642009 , connecticut | Tue, Jan 20, 2009 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 0 visitors found this helpful2 stars by birdee , Unknown | Tue, Dec 23, 2008 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag read more
