Inspired by his father, one of the renowned Santa Fe, New Mexico, santorios who carved saints out of local wood, the artist Jeff G...onzales envisions these striking tables by drawing a pattern onto a cube of local ponderosa pine. After using traditional hand tools to carve the shape, he lets the pine season for several months in order to develop organic cracks and separations. Before they are sanded and finished, the tables are dried in solar kilns, and over time the wood continues to dry, accentuating the existing cracks and wood texture. This natural dynamic process does not compromise the structural integrity of the wood, but it does render every table a unique work of art. Not suitable for outdoor use. Not available for shipment out of the 48 contiguous United States. An additional $10 will be added to the standard shipping cost. read more
