We had our kitchenaid GSS907SWH installed a couple of weeks ago. For the style and price for a slidein, it was the best looking of the bunch (though stainless steel is a lot harder to keep clean:)). Other than the keeping it clean issue, the only real con is the fan noise while baking. The unit has a fan that turns on when the oven gets hot, I think to keep the components cool and prolong it's life. It is a little louder than I would like, but I can live with it. For comparison, you cannot hear the convection fan as the cooling fan is a little louder. It also blows cool - luke warm air out of the bottom of the unit between the oven door and the warming door. Now to the things I really like... This is a great looking unit. To my surprise, the oven has an electric heating element that works with the gas element to heat the oven. I was really impressed at how much faster it heats the oven than my 5 year old GE range that it replaced. It seems to really cook well and has a cool display on the front of the unit that shows what elements are working depending on what your setting is. On top of the range, there power burner is really nice. It only took me 2 minutes for me to boil water for some mac and cheese then other day (clocked it). It gets really hot above that burner when it is on high. On the down side, you are better off cooking med to low temp stuff on the other burners as the power burner is too hot for cooking things like eggs, and the simmer is not quite hot enough for eggs. I was also told by a repair person that the biggest problems with the power burner was when liquids spill over onto the element, the screws sometimes rust making it hard to replace things in there. The other elements work well. The rear left back element is a higher heat element, but I find that the front right and rear left elements, while lower heat, work fine fo read more

In that time, we have replaced the motherboard three times and the gas valve twice. When we try to use the cleaning feature, it "gets too hot" and damages the thermostat. The serviceman said this is a design flaw and that we should not use it. The latest damage happened after we had kept the oven on hot for several hours for a pizza party. It "was too hot for too long" and blew a solenoid. Also, the enamel around the oven window is chipping. NOT WORTH THE PRICE AND HEADACHE!!!! Don't buy this unless all you want to do is look at it. The burners are so low that heat dissipates into the kitchen and does not cook the food. The front panel of the stove gets so hot when you have the oven on that you can't stand in front of it and cook anything on the stove top. It will only brown one tray of cookies at a time, no matter where you position the oven racks. A disaster. Sending back. by fred1450Bronxville, NY | Mon, Oct 25, 2010 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 3 visitors found this helpfulStupid Design!!! Front Panel is way way too touch sensitive. I inadvertantly shut off oven 5 times when I barely touched the panel on the front while stirring gravy on the stove. Had to reprogram probe and oven temp over and over. Then vapor poured out the front vent (which should be located on the stove top or rear) fogging up the panel buttons and running down the front of the range. This will likely lead to the electric panel malfunctioning down the road. Expand your cooking options - Dual Fuel capability pairs the best of gas cooktops with the consistency of electric oven performanc...e Bake and clean on your schedule - The Delay Cook/Clean Functions... 39 visitors found this helpfulDesign Flaw This is a great looking stove and has a lot of power. We have had it for 2 months as of Dec 2011. However, we have identified 1 major issue. When you turn the oven on and then try to turn on some burners, all of the electronics on the range reset. The display screen blanks out, the timer resets, and the oven temp resets. Sometimes it happens the first time you turn on 1 burner, sometimes you can light 3 or 4 burners before it resets itself. It only happens when the oven is on and then you turn on the burners. We have had warranty repair out twice so far. The first time they switched some wires around inside the unit, but this did not resolve the issue. The second time they spent 2 hrs replacing the Electronics and the ignition, but the issue continued. When the technician called Kitchenaid support for further assistance, he was told that it was a "known issue with no current resolution". I hope that they will be resolving the issue soon. Until they resolve the issue, I would not recommend this unit as being fit for purpose. by TheLawnRanger2Glenside, PA | Thu, Dec 8, 2011 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag read more

Immediately upon installation, I noticed that when a gas burner is lit, the control panel goes blank and resets. If the oven is on when you do this, it shuts off. You can't do anything until you set the clock and start over again. Other quality issues: one gas control has gotten stuck in both the safety (pulled out) and the ready-to-light (pushed in) position. This could be dangerous as the knob can be turned easily. Also, there is a cooling fan on the small oven that is very loud and annoying -- much louder than on the large oven. I've already had three service appointments and none of these issues has been resolved. KitchenAid has done nothing to remedy the situation. Next week I have to take a fourth day off work to have another company come out and do a "second opinion" to see what they recommend. Glaring quality issues aside, here is what I think about the range and features. The burners all give a good range of heat settings. Even the large (20k btu) burners go pretty low. The griddle heats evenly, though it takes over 15 minutes to pre-heat. It resists sticking pretty well with non-stick spray - about as well as a polished stainless steel pan. It cleans up pretty easily while it is warm, but it does take some elbow grease to polish off the marks of the food that was cooked on it. I haven't used the ovens very much because of the reset problem described above, but the thing that bugs me is that there is a cooling fan that strongly blows air out of the front of the range as soon as the oven is turned on. At first, it's cool air, but the oven vent is also at the front, so eventually it gets warm and blows the heat and the exhaust out into the room. This seems like poor design to me -- the oven exhaust should be in a location where the fumes can be caught by the range hood. The other design flaw in my opinion is the control panel location. It faces upward in front of the two center rows of burners. Any splatter from these burners ends up on the control panel and it always looks dirty. I chose this model over the 36" because at least the control panel isn't in front of the griddle. However, it still stays dirty all the time. Even without the quality issues, I would not recommend this stove. by kudzuedAtlanta, GA | Tue, May 17, 2011 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag read more

We have limited space. Our washer and dryer are in a closet. This fit in perfectly with its flat back. The 6.0 cu ft capacity dryer has no problem holding a full load from my washer. I really don't know why anyone would need anything bigger. It has the auto moisture sensing cycle which is what I like to dry my clothes on, but it also has the timed cycle and air dry. I purchased this to replace a smaller front loader machine. I live in a townhouse so this offered the largest capacity for the small space where this needed to fit. For capacity, this machine is great. I have no problems washing a queen comforter. I washed my parents king comforter though the comforter did not have much fill. Overall, I must agree with one customer who said that this was the worst machine that they have owned. It does not clean the clothes as I would expect. My whites never come out white. At times, it would seem like I never washed them. I use Tide pods along with the full amount of concentrated bleach, let them soak, and use the whitest whites setting but still you can see the stains. As an example, I was wearing a white t-shirt and spilled some Pepsi on it. I pre-treated it and washed it later that day. You can still see the stains of where the drink was spilled. Any other machine that I owned would have no problem removing those stains. The issue is not just with the white clothes. I had a red cotton shirt that had a mayo stain on it and after washing the stain from the grease of the mayo was still there. I would not recommend this product to a friend primarily because I do not believe that it does a good job of cleaning the clothes. I will not purchase this again. At least 75% of the loads get an unbalanced load error message - and that is not an exaggeration. The size of the load - small, medium, or large - makes no difference. Takes a long time to complete a wash cycle because of the unbalanced load error message. Wish I had returned it after I bought it. Would never recommend this washer to anyone. Would rate it a zero star if I could. by bgr84kidsCharlotte, NC | Mon, Feb 3, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 30 visitors found this helpfullove the washer Just got the washer 5 days ago and I am very pleased with the results. I had the same version but just 7 years older with no steam. Mine was a 4.6 and there is a significant difference in size. I wash a lot of quilts and dog bedding and it is nice to fine something large enough that the items can tumble and get clean. My husband just got home from Afghanistan and I used the steam portion to cle read more

Centennial® Electric Dryer w/ Wrinkle Control - White $448.20 42 visitors found this helpfulMaytag Centennial Electric Dryer Purchased Oct 2013. Works great. Quiet, fast and dependable so far. 90 minute Wrinkle Control really helps. The side open door is more convenient and easy to open and close after a little work to the latch. The top filter is so much easier to clean than the small one inside the drum. Really hope this dryer outperforms the matching washer. The washer has already broken but the dryer has been good. Our last dryer (Admiral/Maytag) was purchased in 1996 and worked until we bought this one. That's 17+ years! One can only dream of appliances lasting that long again. But we do have hope for this one. by jd4120, | Sat, Mar 8, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag read more
