Enjoy exclusive dual-fuel design of the Kitchenaid dual-fuel range with double oven The premier choice for sophisticated cooks, th...e Dual Fuel Range Double Ovenexpands your cooking options, including the ability to prepare multiple dishes... Key parts break quickly!!! We bought this oven in May 2012. Installed it in August 2012 with a kitchen remodel. The board and the censors in the oven have gone bad causing it to not preheat or reheat properly/reliably. The parts are on factory back order with no E.T.A. on when they will be ready and will cost us approximately 26% of the original cost of the range to fix it. Many reviews of Kitchenaid in general are revealing that quality of their products and service has declined significantly. Based on this experience, I would have to agree. I love the double oven capacity, the 5th burner and that is dual fuel, but I can't bake anything in the oven - even basic recipes like box mix cupcakes. Very disappointing and frustrating. Look elsewhere for a good baking experience. by CIH06Pleasanton, CA | Thu, Feb 27, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 22 visitors found this helpful Best range I've ever owned After reading the reviews, I was a little anxious about the lower oven causing the upper oven's window to gather condensation. The other complaint on this site was that the racks are uneven, and after 3 replacements, the problem remained ... so uneven, in fact that pans and dishes slid right out of the oven!? What???!! I have concluded that these strange negative reviews were written by someone with an axe to grind. I've put this range through the works. Convection roasting of chicken with baked potatoes in the upper oven just last night. Perfection. The skin was crackly and crispy on the chicken, the potates done to perfection .... no condensation. Beef roast, ditto -- perfection I've baked cakes, pies and bread in both the upper and lower ovens. Fabulous. Used the bread proofing setting on the lower oven for the rise ... perfection. The gas top? No surprises there. All the burners have a nice even flame. The griddle is a little small. That's my only negative. We had our kitchenaid GSS907SWH installed a couple of weeks ago. For the style and price for a slidein, it was the best looking of the bunch (though stainless steel is a lot harder to keep clean:)). Other than the keeping it clean issue, the only real con is the fan noise while baking. The unit has a fan that turns on when the oven gets hot, I think to keep the components cool and prolong it's life. It is a little louder than I would like, but I can live with it. For comparison, you cannot hear the convection fan as the cooling fan is a little louder. It also blows cool - luke warm air out of the bottom of the unit between the oven door and the warming door. Now to the things I really like... This is a great looking unit. To my surprise, the oven has an electric heating element that works with the gas element to heat the oven. I was really impressed at how much faster it heats the oven than my 5 year old GE range that it replaced. It seems to really cook well and has a cool display on the front of the unit that shows what elements are working depending on what your setting is. On top of the range, there power burner is really nice. It only took me 2 minutes for me to boil water for some mac and cheese then other day (clocked it). It gets really hot above that burner when it is on high. On the down side, you are better off cooking med to low temp stuff on the other burners as the power burner is too hot for cooking things like eggs, and the simmer is not quite hot enough for eggs. I was also told by a repair person that the biggest problems with the power burner was when liquids spill over onto the element, the screws sometimes rust making it hard to replace things in there. The other elements work well. The rear left back element is a higher heat element, but I find that the front right and rear left elements, while lower heat, work fine fo read more

I inadvertantly shut off oven 5 times when I barely touched the panel on the front while stirring gravy on the stove. Had to reprogram probe and oven temp over and over. Then vapor poured out the front vent (which should be located on the stove top or rear) fogging up the panel buttons and running down the front of the range. This will likely lead to the electric panel malfunctioning down the road. We have had it for 2 months as of Dec 2011. However, we have identified 1 major issue. When you turn the oven on and then try to turn on some burners, all of the electronics on the range reset. The display screen blanks out, the timer resets, and the oven temp resets. Sometimes it happens the first time you turn on 1 burner, sometimes you can light 3 or 4 burners before it resets itself. It only happens when the oven is on and then you turn on the burners. We have had warranty repair out twice so far. The first time they switched some wires around inside the unit, but this did not resolve the issue. The second time they spent 2 hrs replacing the Electronics and the ignition, but the issue continued. When the technician called Kitchenaid support for further assistance, he was told that it was a "known issue with no current resolution". I hope that they will be resolving the issue soon. Until they resolve the issue, I would not recommend this unit as being fit for purpose. by TheLawnRanger2Glenside, PA | Thu, Dec 8, 2011 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag read more

Immediately upon installation, I noticed that when a gas burner is lit, the control panel goes blank and resets. If the oven is on when you do this, it shuts off. You can't do anything until you set the clock and start over again. Other quality issues: one gas control has gotten stuck in both the safety (pulled out) and the ready-to-light (pushed in) position. This could be dangerous as the knob can be turned easily. Also, there is a cooling fan on the small oven that is very loud and annoying -- much louder than on the large oven. I've already had three service appointments and none of these issues has been resolved. KitchenAid has done nothing to remedy the situation. Next week I have to take a fourth day off work to have another company come out and do a "second opinion" to see what they recommend. Glaring quality issues aside, here is what I think about the range and features. The burners all give a good range of heat settings. Even the large (20k btu) burners go pretty low. The griddle heats evenly, though it takes over 15 minutes to pre-heat. It resists sticking pretty well with non-stick spray - about as well as a polished stainless steel pan. It cleans up pretty easily while it is warm, but it does take some elbow grease to polish off the marks of the food that was cooked on it. I haven't used the ovens very much because of the reset problem described above, but the thing that bugs me is that there is a cooling fan that strongly blows air out of the front of the range as soon as the oven is turned on. At first, it's cool air, but the oven vent is also at the front, so eventually it gets warm and blows the heat and the exhaust out into the room. This seems like poor design to me -- the oven exhaust should be in a location where the fumes can be caught by the range hood. The other design flaw in my opinion is the control panel location. It faces upward in front of the two center rows of burners. Any splatter from these burners ends up on the control panel and it always looks dirty. I chose this model over the 36" because at least the control panel isn't in front of the griddle. However, it still stays dirty all the time. Even without the quality issues, I would not recommend this stove. by kudzuedAtlanta, GA | Tue, May 17, 2011 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag read more

This is the best stove I ever used. It boils food silently. The double oven is awesome. Cooking multiple items at different temperature at the same time while cutting your kitchen time in half is fantastic!!!!! This is the second best investment I ever made next to my fax machine. I cannot comment on how easy/hard the glass top is to clean as I have not had the unit long enough yet. I have used the oven several times with an oven thermometer inside and the heat settings are accurate. So far, I am impressed. The oven heats quickly but the convention oven does not bake as quickly as I expected. The first time I baked a dinner using it...the food was not baked and I had to bake the dinner longer... like I would have baked it in a normal oven. Since it is the Christmas holiday, I decided to use the normal bake...instead of the convection feature...and I will practice baking various foods as I have extra time. It is very easy to operate and works very well. Really like the keep warm feature which keeps food warm in the oven. The slow cook feature is a real plus. The stovetop cleans up quickly with little effort. Very happy we purchased this model. Good thing I owned tools they made the gas connection and tested it using my soap. However they never unpacked or leveled. The only test they preformed was turning the burners on and saying see it works. Not expecting that kind of longevity from this purchase - but not expecting any problems either. The range is beautiful in the bisque color, and has many features found on much more expensive units. I'll post an update in a couple of months, but so far, so good. Salespeople were knowledgeable and friendly in the NE Philadelphia store; delivery men competent and efficient (although they are with an outfit which Sears contracts to deliver its products.) I could not be more pleased. The Convection Oven is a feature that is new to myself, but I think it will be a great improvement compared to standard ovens. Really like the large central burner for larger pots and skillets. The smaller rear simmer burner is a nice feature too. The best part is the full convection oven, it bakes much faster and more evenly than our old stove. The warming drawer works great for keeping rolls or cassrole dishes warm while preparing the rest of a large meal. The fit and finish is very good, and we were still able to get it in a bisque color to match our 5 year old Kenmore fridge. Since we have LP gas, the conversion orifices were included, although the instructions for the conversion were not real clear, you have to be sure and match up the BTU rating of the orifice with the right size burner. Although the orifices are color coded, the instructions do not tell you exactly which burner they go to. We should have paid attention to the bad ones. Enamel chips easily, oven does not cook evenly, had to get a repairmen out to set the burners, they had one temperature. ON. This is not Kenmore quality. We have purchased Kenmore for 30 years but this is probably our last. Sad to say. by susabattBrowns Valley, CA | Wed, Mar 5, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag Verified PurchaseKenmore range I am so pleased to have my husband buy this range for me.
