We bought this "silver mist" microwave to go along with our Frigidaire silver mist stove and fridge. This is silver plastic, not stainless, which hasn't been an issue with our fridge and stove that we've had for 4 years and 1 year, respectively. However, within 3 months of the microhood being installed, the silver plastic part of the doorfront bottom completely melted and warped during Thanksgiving cooking. It's properly installed by a licensed contractor and is vented and was used with the fan running. However, the plastic of the door apparently cannot withstand placement over the range--despite the fact that it's constructed to be over the range! During a few hours' worth of range and stovetop cooking, the plastic door became incredibly hot to the touch and melted. by JenE4SLincoln Park, NJ | Fri, Nov 30, 2012 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 9 visitors found this helpful Good while it lasted. A variety of features give you more cooking options to achieve the results you want. A big miss for the KitchenAid brand This microwave is sub par with the old GE that it replaced. From fit and finish to general overall quality. The fan is really loud, the stainless panels are applied in such a way as to appear cheap and even the KitchenAid logo is not straight. For a $500 plus dollars MSRP I expected better quality, saw it in store and was shocked but it was on sale at a smoking good discount of a more worthy price of $399. This product is a case of Whirlpool purchasing a old high quality brand name and cheapening it for maximum profits by giving you a longer warranty. While this may. Be a entry level product. Glad we purchased it. After almost 18 months of use, the Microwave went out. The service tech has been out twice so far, with a 3rd visit scheduled to hopefully get it fixed. This is not that old. We do use it daily for microwave and a few times a week for convection. If I had it to do over, I'd buy a brand that doesn't have so many bad reviews at consumer reports. This is a wonderful microwave. It has a very large interior, but is super quiet. It is great-looking, goes perfectly with my other Frigidaire stainless steel appliances, and works great. Built-In Microwave Oven $289.99 21 visitors found this helpful Good Looking and Strong, but very noisy I was the owner/user of this microwave and also am a residential contractor for whats it worth. The installation is seamless and the trim kit... though made of plastic, is thick enough to be okay. If trying to match colors, both the micro and trim are gloss black. Once you start it though, the motor engages in a deep, loud vibration that continues into a loud hum; more so than any other unit I have ever installed. I removed the micro and set it on something solid all by itself, the vibration increased and was clearly coming from the motor. Further inspection online revealed numerous complaints about the noise via Google. Sears took the return without complaint and great to work with. by HutchResKansas City, MO | Sat, Feb 2, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 37 visitors found this helpfulFrigidare Gallery Very Good Microwave, But Built-In Beware This is a good microwave with many normal and advanced features. I have no complaints about the microwave except one. My previous GE allowed use of the cook function and timer feature (to time something else) at the same time. This Frigidare does not have that capability; one or the other. Other than that it is a good oven. What did bother me with the purchase is the lack of knowledge by the sales people and lack of information regarding the built-in nature of this microwave. The microwave ordered by itself has no ducting or air venting additions, so my question is what makes it a built-in? My previous microwave had additional air ducts to move the vented air from the exhaust back directly to the front air vent to exhaust in the room. What I found out later is that the additional built-in ducting come with the trim kit. No where in the literature I found nor that the salesman provided was that information available. I did not order the trim kit as the Frigidare face plate did not match the dimensions of the wall space I needed to cover. I expected the microwave to come ducted and the trim kit to have the center equipment and face plate. I ended up finding out through a knowledgeable source that the front bottom venting Frigidare is okay without ducting kit if the size of the wall hole is large enough and the front vent is close enough to the face plate to exhaust to the room. Since this is a non-convection oven the exhaust temperature is reasonably low. Problem solved, but delayed installation several days to find the information. I ended up using www.microtrim.com to order their trim kit which contained the mounting/centering guides and the face plate (I highly recommend www.microtrim.com). Bottom line this is a very good microwave, but be careful with the installation if you do not buy the trim kit. Thank goodness when I paid out the wazoo for this piece of **** microwave, I also got a warranty. After 7 tries, they were finally able to get one delivered that came from the factory not damaged in the box BEFORE shipment! YES I said SEVEN! When I contacted Electrolux directly after about number four, they pretty much told me I needed to let Sears handle it for me. Well, Sears was a victim as well, when their product shows up in a perfect box, and when opened, the whole top is bashed in, sent from the factory that way. I would have switched brands then, but had already purchased the matching range as well, and am now still dealing with factory defects on it too. Now, less than three years later, the microwave I ended up with is fried and I still have warranty left. This isn't the first time it's gone out, this time it's not repairable. Every time it goes out, I am without for over a month waiting on parts and service. I bought an inexpensive one at a competitor to make do with in the interim. Bet you wish you could say you keep a back up microwave in the closet. Again, thank goodness for warranty, because they are allowing me a replacement value voucher to select a replacement. I can actually select a different brand! I am so over Electrolux anything after this lousy experience! I use it at night when I just need a little light to get a drink, because my dogs sleep in the kitchen and turning on the ceiling light will wake them but this light doesn't. The vent is mostly useless and is very loud on the high setting. It only works a little bit if you use the back burners on the stove. It doesn't suck hard enough to pull any steam or smoke from the front burners since the microwave doesn't go out that far. Also, it just pushes everything up through the unit and out vents on the top, so be prepared that your cabinet above and the ceiling will get dirty. I have to clean the cabinet and ceiling regularly or they get dingy from all of the steam and smoke being vented up to them. I wasn't sure if I would be pleased with this product, but I am. The combo convection/microwave cycle has made cooking some items that took two -three hours in the oven down to perfect results in 55 minutes. The convection only cycle is wonderful as you need less heat to cook the food in the same amount of time which will be fantastic for summer. The microwave use is a snap. by mrfleming, | Mon, Feb 10, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag Like the features The add 30 second feature makes for easy use on a lot of warm ups! by Joe12, | Mon, Feb 10, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag Love it. The documents that come with this product are quite limited. There are so many seemingly fantastic features -but not sure how to use each one. The Use and Care Manual is too vague/too brief. It is noisy. It also needs to be wiped dry after each use (think it needs a better ventilation system). Love all the features (once I know how to use them). by tammyNH, | Mon, Jan 13, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag This product is nice to used but I haven't learned how to change the filter yet? We had a microwave and stove both from Maytag. The microwave went out that is why we replaced. The only thing I did not like is that the light color on the microwave does not match the lite color on the stove - one is amber and the other is green, but no big deal. Hope it lasts a long time. I think it is attractive and works well. Maytags are noisy. I think this one is a little less than the one we had before so its a little better. by bob328, | Sat, Mar 8, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 7 visitors found this helpfulVerified PurchaseMicrowaves well, love the light, looks good, but the vent isn't the best I am happy with this microwave, but for the price my husband is very disappointed and wishes I hadn't bought it. It microwaves very well. Lots of people complain about how loud it is, but I really don't think it's bothersome. It make no more noise than my 15 year old dishwasher, and since you typically don't run it for more than a few minutes it's not like the noise pollution is constantly an issue. The light is great, and I love that it has two settings, though I think the high could be just a tad brighter. I guess there isn't really a better option since I don't have the set up to vent outside the house, but I wish it would at least filter it so that it doesn't stain my cabinet and ceiling. Overall, I gave it four stars because it looks nice, does the job, and I don't have a ton of complaints. The issues I have with it probably apply to all microhoods (this is the first one I have owned). I would recommend this product to a friend. by SaraJozPerkasie, PA | Sun, Feb 23, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag Sense Disappointed with sense cooking. The instructions were actually clear and easy to use. Make sure you don't tear open the cardboard on top as that is the template you use to install the mounting bracket. Installed in about 30 minutes and, for once, everything was included. Microwave is quiet. Really love that it doesn't have a spinning turn table to heat stuff on. Instead it has a tray that moves side to side about 5 inches. This is great for casserole and tuperwear that is rectangler that would simply hit the door while spinning read more

Built-In Convection Microwave Oven - Stainless Steel $1099.99 3 visitors found this helpfulDo not buy Purchased for new home construction. I had to purchase 6 months before I moved into my house. Electrolux uses the purchase date for warranty issues. Turntable stopped working after 3 years, now after 3.5 years the heating element is broken. I have had problems with my built-in stove, dishwasher and freezer is well. Paid a lot of money for these appliances and they keep breaking down! by ashrekThiensville, WI | Fri, May 24, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 3 visitors found this helpfulThis is way more than a microwave Got the stainless steel front - matches the in-wall oven. The pair looks great, but the microwave (Electrolux calls it a "speed oven") almost makes the in-wall oven redundant. This thing also convection bakes, it even grills (haven't tried griling in the microwave yet - don't really get the concept). There are hundreds of built in presets - but you need to keep the book handy to know which preset number corresponds to which recipe - and who is going to do that. Overall, this has way more features than the average cook would ever use, and if you are a really good cook, you wouldn't rely on all these presets anyways, so most of it is overkill. by lgrilliSt. Petersburg, FL | Wed, Mar 24, 2010 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 9 visitors found this helpfulElectrolux Microwave is a NIGHTMARE We purchased a Kitchen Aid Microwave for our new construction home. When it went to be installed, the Cabinet makers didn't make the cut out correctly and it would not fit. This was days before moving in. It was too late to re-order cabinets (re-stain, new countertops, etc.) After a lot of searching, this was the only microwave that would fit the hole. I heard that Electrolux was supposed to be a great brand. We ordered the microwave in January, couldn't get it installed until February (our fault, not Sears) and of course, no trim kit. Electrolux ships it in a separate box, but doesn't tell anyone at the store level. After a couple more weeks, the trim kit came in and we installed again. We finally were able to use the microwave by mid-March. In April, turntable stopped working - after about 4 times of use!! Sears promptly fixed the problem. Now in July, microwave is AGAIN not working. There is no heat. This is with very light microwave use (reheating, popcorn, etc.) I have never had the chance to use it as a convection oven, because it has worked poorly even during the times it has worked. VERY frustrated. Do not buy this microwave! by Anonymous , Texas | Fri, Jul 24, 2009 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 19 visitors found this helpfulNot a good first impression. I ordered this product and picked it up with several other appliances. I was NOT aware that the trim kit, included in the purchase price, was shipped in a seperate box. You can NOT find a trim kit for this microwave. Mine was not given to me at the time of pick-up. Sears is trying to find another one ... They suggested that I return the microwave and they will issue me a credit and 'reorder it'. Unfortunately, after only two weeks of use, (maybe 5 minutes of microwave only time) the carousel suddenly is no longer rotating. I called Electrolux and they sent a repairman. Parts on order. I am well within my 90 day return to sears, however, I don't have the original shipping box (a requirement for returns). So all in all, my experience with Sears and Electrolux has been less than I would have hoped for. by DJJ1350Germantown, TN | Tue, Apr 8, 2008 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag read more
