We bought this "silver mist" microwave to go along with our Frigidaire silver mist stove and fridge. This is silver plastic, not stainless, which hasn't been an issue with our fridge and stove that we've had for 4 years and 1 year, respectively. However, within 3 months of the microhood being installed, the silver plastic part of the doorfront bottom completely melted and warped during Thanksgiving cooking. It's properly installed by a licensed contractor and is vented and was used with the fan running. However, the plastic of the door apparently cannot withstand placement over the range--despite the fact that it's constructed to be over the range! During a few hours' worth of range and stovetop cooking, the plastic door became incredibly hot to the touch and melted. by JenE4SLincoln Park, NJ | Fri, Nov 30, 2012 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 9 visitors found this helpful Good while it lasted. Kitchenaid

This KitchenAid® microwave hood combination oven KHMS2040 lets you conveniently add a microwave to your kitchen without sacrificin...g counter space. A variety of features give you more cooking options to achieve the results you want. A big miss for the KitchenAid brand This microwave is sub par with the old GE that it replaced. From fit and finish to general overall quality. The fan is really loud, the stainless panels are applied in such a way as to appear cheap and even the KitchenAid logo is not straight. For a $500 plus dollars MSRP I expected better quality, saw it in store and was shocked but it was on sale at a smoking good discount of a more worthy price of $399. This product is a case of Whirlpool purchasing a old high quality brand name and cheapening it for maximum profits by giving you a longer warranty. While this may. Be a entry level product. For Whirlpool ie KitchenAid those of use who remember the KitchenAid brand that was manufactured by Hobart long for those days. Glad we purchased it. After almost 18 months of use, the Microwave went out. The service tech has been out twice so far, with a 3rd visit scheduled to hopefully get it fixed. This is not that old. We do use it daily for microwave and a few times a week for convection. If I had it to do over, I'd buy a brand that doesn't have so many bad reviews at consumer reports. I was without this microwave/convection oven during the Christmas Holidays while cooking for company. It make no more noise than my 15 year old dishwasher, and since you typically don't run it for more than a few minutes it's not like the noise pollution is constantly an issue. The light is great, and I love that it has two settings, though I think the high could be just a tad brighter. I use it at night when I just need a little light to get a drink, because my dogs sleep in the kitchen and turning on the ceiling light will wake them but this light doesn't. The vent is mostly useless and is very loud on the high setting. It only works a little bit if you use the back burners on the stove. It doesn't suck hard enough to pull any steam or smoke from the front burners since the microwave doesn't go out that far. Also, it just pushes everything up through the unit and out vents on the top, so be prepared that your cabinet above and the ceiling will get dirty. I have to clean the cabinet and ceiling regularly or they get dingy from all of the steam and smoke being vented up to them. I guess there isn't really a better option since I don't have the set up to vent outside the house, but I wish it would at least filter it so that it doesn't stain my cabinet and ceiling. The documents that come with this product are quite limited. There are so many seemingly fantastic features -but not sure how to use each one. The Use and Care Manual is too vague/too brief. It is noisy. It also needs to be wiped dry after each use (think it needs a better ventilation system). Love all the features (once I know how to use them). by tammyNH, | Mon, Jan 13, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag This product is nice to used but I haven't learned how to change the filter yet? We had a microwave and stove both from Maytag. The microwave went out that is why we replaced. The only thing I did not like is that the light color on the microwave does not match the lite color on the stove - one is amber and the other is green, but no big deal. Hope it lasts a long time. I think it is attractive and works well. Maytags are noisy. I think this one is a little less than the one we had before so its a little better. by bob328, | Sat, Mar 8, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 7 visitors found this helpfulVerified PurchaseMicrowaves well, love the light, looks good, but the vent isn't the best I am happy with this microwave, but for the price my husband is very disappointed and wishes I hadn't bought it. It microwaves very well. Lots of people complain about how loud it is, but I really don't think it's bothersome. Overall, I gave it four stars because it looks nice, does the job, and I don't have a ton of complaints. The issues I have with it probably apply to all microhoods (this is the first one I have owned). The instructions were actually clear and easy to use. Make sure you don't tear open the cardboard on top as that is the template you use to install the mounting bracket. Installed in about 30 minutes and, for once, everything was included. Microwave is quiet. Really love that it doesn't have a spinning turn table to heat stuff on. Instead it has a tray that moves side to side about 5 inches. This is great for casserole and tuperwear that is rectangler that would simply hit the door while spinning read more

Bosch microwave HMV8051U is designed to match your Bosch kitchen and is the ultimate marriage of stylish form and cooking function.... Double microwave distribution system for more even cooking 900 Watt power... 18 visitors found this helpfulWorst microwave I ever purchased. We purchased this product a couple of months ago. Recently it started sparking. I called Sears about the product. They sent a service man out to check the unit. He said the scarring inside the walls compromized the inside of the wall lining. He also said that if you leave the grate inside the micro-wave and cook on the turn table with no food on the grate that this would cause it to spark.I have had 3 micro waves in the past and never had this problem. I feel for something this important the salesman should have warned us before we purchased and or the manufacture should have specified this on the unit itself and not stick it in some the manual in small print. Do your self a favor and skip over this product. John Chalmus, Atl. Ga by JohnChalmusMonroe, GA | Fri, Jul 13, 2012 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag read more

After shopping for other microwave and price comparison, this one seem to be the closet in dimension to our previous one and had a decent price. I compared the price with this item between Sears and ****** and Sears was about $20 cheaper. Installation was a breeze. There are wall template to tape to the wall to figure out where to drill the holes for the mount. There was also a top template included to tape to the bottom of the cabinet to determine where to drill the holes. Overall, it seem to work well and we haven't had any problems. However, at the time of this review, it's only been installed for a few days. My only two complaints are more wish list type items 1. When the microwave is done cooking, it has 3 long beeps instead of just one. It's a bit annoying and there's no way to change this or disable it. 2. The light switch, there's only on and off.
