It does very well. The black on the knobs will wear out and start to look horrible in about a year. They run $33 each, plus shipping, tax, etc... You'll get a 90 day warranty on them. The black print on the stove will start to wear out and erase no matter how careful you are cleaning it. No way I would reccommend this stovetop. by kirkland500Syracuse, UT | Mon, Jan 30, 2012 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 4 visitors found this helpfulPerfect Preformance and Looks for the Price I replaced our old gas cooktop and after searching and searching came to the kenmore Pro 30 inch drop in to go into our island. A friend of mine works for Whirlpool and stated that the kenmore pro is the same as any other High end appliance. Not only did I get the look I wanted but I got great preformance, the Griddle is Awsome for breafast and warming tortilla's etc. Just bought my new dream home and will be doing all Kenmore Pro just wish they did a trash compactor to match the Built in 46 Kenmore Pro frig, and 30' Double Kenmore pro wall Oven. The only flaw I have with the cooktop, is it sometimes can be challenging to keep the Grates cleaned , and Stainless around burners as I am a neat freak and keep it polished at all times. Also check the pricing at the Sears Outlets sometimes you can get over 50% off or more on these. I just picked up the Kenmore pro Warming drawer that Retails for $999, for $ 99 Highly recomend by BillSelmanWalled Lake, MI | Sun, Feb 21, 2010 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 4 visitors found this helpfulDo not buy this Cooktop. I now have to replace the knobs on my cooktop for the second time. This is the second time in less than three years they have had to be replaced. The first time a technician came out and replaced them with the stainless steel base as it was defective. I understand that parts wear out but this seems to be a bit much for a very expensive cooktop. There is a definite design flaw in this cooktop as the biggest burner is closest to the knobs. If you put a big pan on the burner then the heat comes out from under the pan and melts the knob(s). In addition, the knobs are plastic with a foil coating and cost about $50 each to replace. I think that it price is way too high especially considering the frequency in which they need to replaced. Should a customers have to pay over $200 a year to keep their cook top working correctly? As with the other review, we use the big burner over 90% of the time as the other burners work only in a warming fashion. I would never buy this again but after laying out money for Sears best I have little left to buy another cooktop. by DPSWesterly, RI | Mon, Feb 15, 2010 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 9 visitors found this helpful3 stars Bought the Kenmore Pro series (wall oven, 30 inch cook top and warming drawer). Cook top is just OK. we were expecting a big improvement over our old cheapo Hotpoint cook top but the new one does not perform much better...looks great though!! The 17,200 BTU burner is the work horse and is the one we use 90% of the time. Unfortunately, it quit working after only 60 days (repair guy comes tomorrow). The unit has a small "simmer" burner and the name says it all...it's only good for keeping something warm after the 17,000 BTU burner does its job. The "bridge" burner works pretty good with the grill that comes with it but other than that...it only seems to be good for keeping something warm after (again) the 17,000 BTU burner does it's job. This product: Kenmore Pro 36" Slide-In Ceramic-Glass Gas Cooktop $1821.59 6 visitors found this helpfulGreat Cooktop Before we purchased the cooktop (and the Kenmore Pro double oven) we read several negative reviews. I almost backed out of the sale, but decided to get it anyway. We do some pretty serious cooking and have been looking for something that would suit our needs. The cooktop was delivered on a Friday. We installed it on Saturday and gave it a good "break in" on Sunday by cooking an after Thanksgiving meal for 10 people. At one point we had 4 burners going and the double oven cooking in both places. Both items worked flawlessly! Our next major meal was a Christmas dinner where we did 200 homemade ravioli. The cooktop once again preformed exceptionally, heating water in 2 large pots fast and keeping them boiling for about two hours. If you are looking for a quality cooking surface, I recommend this cooktop without reservation. As far as cleaning, it has been fairly easy. The glass surface under the burners is easy to get clean with a bit of mild soap or spray cleaner. I don't use the special cleaning materials that came with the unit. As long as I get the surface cleaned I am not that worried if I cannot see my reflection on the glass surface. Get this cooktop and enjoy! I would recommend this product to a friend. by Robert_in_SacFair Oaks, CA | Mon, Jan 20, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag Verified PurchaseKenmore Pro 36" Slide-In Ceramic-Glass Gas Cooktop Let's Start Your Review Works very well and it was an easy install I would recommend this product to a friend. by cprzybylBergen, NY | Sun, Oct 27, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 2 visitors found this helpfulNot worth the money! difficult to clean and problematic! We had this slide in gas cook top installed last June when we built our new home and find it overall disappointing. First, it is nearly impossible to clean. We cook every day for a family of four, and by the end of the day it always needs cleaning. However, it cannot simply be wiped down. The owners manual devotes several pages to the proper cleaning instructions for each piece. Every type of material on the cook top requires a different type of cleaner. This is not only expensive, but tedious. Also, the front, left burner produces a "popping" sound every time it is in use for more than 5 minutes. The sound is extremely annoying. Guests have commented on it when they are at our home because it is so bothersome. Recently, the strongest burner also malfunctioned. The flame has become so big on this burner it is coming out the side. We will be having this product serviced after just 6 months of ownership. by emt23Spotsylvania, VA | Thu, Apr 4, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 5 visitors found this helpfulThis stove looks GREAT! This is a really nice looking stove. I have not had any trouble with the knobs, and this baby is so much easier to keep clean than my previous gas stove. My only complaint is that there is no easy way to use the two-burner griddle. First, the one that came with the stove is two small to fit over any two adjacent burners, the handles fall right in the middle of the fires - definitely not safe! Second, while I do have a larger griddle, even it only covers a set of front and back burners, no two of which on this stove have the same output or size, so it is difficult to get even heating. I have yet to find a griddle long enough to cover two side-by-side burners on this stove. I would recommend this product to a friend. by par80132Monument, CO | Fri, Apr 13, 2012 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 0 visitors found this helpfulSo far its great!!!! I cannot believe we paid so much for this Kitchen Decoration that is already starting to break down. The oven temp control board is a joke. My dear wife loves her range but when she bakes, the beeping does not stop and the temperature fluxuates up and down. It is very frustrating. I always try and keep an even keel but believe me this is a $5000 pos. I wanted to buy a Thermador and should have, but could not pass up on the deal I got for this. I only paid $2500 at the scratch and dent and bought the 3 year warranty as a back up. Yes this is beautiful, and by all accounts when working is a wonderful Range to cook on with exceptions. The oven worked OK from the start, although I did have a problem with warped cast iron burners. Then the fan noise everyone talks about, yeah brutal. I figured I would have that serviced and the technician had the balls to say "Duhhh I can't do anything about that. That's just how they sound" What??? I ended up fixing that myself with a little bit of common sense. Now the same issue others are having with the beeping and preheat mode. So I call those geniuses back to repair. Guess what! two hours of incompetent repair man later the thing doesn't even get warm! Needless to say I have had this stove for 1 1/2 years I am going on service call #6 +. Keep in mind every appliance in my home came from Sears, and knock on wood I have 1 that has not required a service call. Dryer 5 calls they had to replace it, freezer 3 calls, fridge 2 calls. Its not just the appliances, the repair service is pathetic, and the customer service even worse. Be warned. Go to **********, ***** your local guy. In September 2012, the oven would beep repeatedly and enter pre-heat mode after already baking. The beeping became more frequent until in May 2013, the unit would then shut down. We've been without this oven for 4 months. We've had 6 service calls. We've been required to pay for every one. On September 20th, a senior technician came out. The oven failed on Sunday September 22nd. Now, Sears wants another $75.00 for a service call plus parts! VERY frustrated. We purchased a $5,000.00 decoration for out kitchen. by dgiorDelaware, OH | Wed, Sep 25, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 3 visitors found this helpful Great Idea, Poor Execution Purchased this range for a new home we built. The oven fan came without the cap nut to hold it in place...worked fine for several weeks, then finally came off the hub and started an awful rattle. Be careful when ordering to note that the motor and the exhaust surround (barely shown in the picture) above the hood are not included in the price. Both the motor and the surround are optional (and not inexpensive). Our salesman was not aware of this and both items were missing when our contractor began installation. We had to defer completion of the kitchen until we placed another order and got the parts in. Also, be advised that the lights are difficult to change. They are a bayonet style that requires that the bulb be lightly pushed in and twisted to remove. In our case, slight pressure to twist resulted in the entire bulb socket popping out of it's housing and disappearing into the interior of the hood. Very cheap and insufficient design for the price charged. by SteveMKentuckyAustin, KY | Wed, Jul 17, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 3 visitors found this helpfulThis Kenmore range hood is elegant and sleek. This product: Kenmore Pro 36" Gas Drop In Cooktop $975.02 3 visitors found this helpful not recommended unless all you use this for is heating up hot dogs, i dont recommend this cooktop. i bought in 2008 and havent been happy. would be better off spending a bit more to buy a true professional rangetop. one of the knobs broke early on, but obviously cooktop still worked - just with one wobbly ****. store wanted approximately $150 to replace. not worth it. overall, the main burner is the only one that works - very well. i admit that the main burner works well, but the other 4 cant boil water or sear meat. really - you cant prepare a meal for guest or for any party with just one functional burner. the bridge thing is a joke too. they would be much better off eliminating that and going to at least two, if not 3 high power burners. anyway, just my 2 cents. i am replacing this summer after just a few years of weak activity by jackietreehornMinnetonka, MN | Sun, Mar 24, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 3 visitors found this helpfulkenmore pro stovetop cheap made the knobs are the cheapest part on this stove but not cheap to replace at almost $50 each. Wish I had spent the money for a high end stove, yes it is embarrassing when you have a high end kichen and low end stove top. 2 of the 5 knobs wobble a little the other 3 barely work. If you are not that great of a cook....this cooktop is fine. However, we do cook and our biggest problem is the burnners vary too much in size. Front is large, and great for big pots filled with water that needs boiling...but if you need another large pot or even medium, the two back (right) burnners take forever to get anything to boil. Wished I noted their sizes. Also, the long left burners varies in flames...meaning if they are all set on high..the back's flame is never quiet equal to the front or middle area. As for the knobs...they are becoming looser and the one **** to the mid back burner (which is rarely used) is very loose. Last, to note it does not have extra low, so for those who like to make their own spag sauce and want it to simmer...it doesn't. It's a must watch to make sure the sauce doesn't end up being burnt. by mamom3Medford, MA | Thu, Jan 5, 2012 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 18 visitors found this helpfulTricks of read more
