It was so sleek and the glass was super easy to keep clean. Biggest problem? As others have said, the burners and grates are light grey and so they stain. ANY cooking grease, or even burning impurities in the gas, leave dark smudges. I found using a plastic scrub pad with bar-keepers friend DAILY kept them at bay. But really......why not make the burners and grates BLACK? It would be sooooo simple. The smudges would never show. Come on Kitchen Aid - get on the ball! I can't believe they haven't figured this out in all this time! Otherwise, it's a beautiful stove-top, and the glass is really easy to clean - doesn't show grease streaks like a black glass stove-top does. I would recommend this product to a friend. by tilefrauFranklin, NC | Sun, Dec 9, 2012 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 3 visitors found this helpfulGood looks but that's it We purhased this cooktop and after 1 month of use, returned it. The pluses: looks good; burners work very well. The minuses: the glass surface is too delicate for daily use. After 1 month of use and using special cleaners as directed, the cooktop looked worse than the 20-yr-old enameled Kitchen Aide cooktop that we replaced. The grates are disproportionally bulky desing-wise and overly heavy use-wise. Bottom line, this product is not designed for those who actually cook. Installation: We highly recommend Sears installers--very professional. Installation of this item and its replacement went very well. by RatherBmeSan Carlos, CA | Mon, Jul 30, 2012 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 1 visitors found this helpfulit was okay. it was okay. by woopwoopx3Dearborn Heights, MI | Sat, Nov 20, 2010 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 4 visitors found this helpfuldisappointed I had to discard a Kitchen Aid cooktop that I could no longer get a part for. I read the reviews on this unit. I was concerned about the black spots. I called Kitchen Aid customer service and they claimed NO knowledge of that probleml. I purchased this unit from Sears for nearly $1000. The first time I used it the matte gray grates and gray burner caps got black spots, exactly as reported in the two reviews. I'm sure the cooktop will perform well ( as did my previous Kitchen Aid cooktop that I could no longer get parts for) however, the black spots affect the cosmetic appearance. I feel Kitchen Aid customer service was less than honest with me and about this apparent problem. I am dissappointed. by disappointed01Novato, CA | Mon, Nov 16, 2009 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 3 visitors found this helpfulBlack Spots Purchased this cooktop about a month ago. The power and simmer burners are extremely useful. I like to wok cook and the power burner is great for that. Love cooking on it. Now the down side. When a little drip or grease splatter or other food gets on the grates or burner tops while cooking it bakes on and the spot turns black. It is nearly impossible to wash off. I have called Kitchen Aid and they are sending some of their cleaner. The customer service rep acted like they had not received other complaints about this but as you can see from one of the other reviews I am not the only one having the problem and it is not from the gas not being adjusted properly. Kitchen Aid acts like they will work to satisfy me but the grates and burner caps are terrible to try and clean. I would not buy this item if I had it to do over. by Stinnem88 , Oklahoma | Sat, Feb 16, 2008 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 1 visitors found this helpfulExcellent quality as expected from KitchenAid Excellent quality cook top! Kenmore Pro 36" Slide-In Ceramic-Glass Gas Cooktop - High Output This powerful Kenmore Pro 36" slide-in ceramic-glass gas cooktop ...3050 provides the range necessary for cooking with all sizes of pots and pans. Sleek and easy-to-use, this slide-in gas cooktop... 5 visitors found this helpfulGreat Cooktop Before we purchased the cooktop (and the Kenmore Pro double oven) we read several negative reviews. I almost backed out of the sale, but decided to get it anyway. We do some pretty serious cooking and have been looking for something that would suit our needs. The cooktop was delivered on a Friday. We installed it on Saturday and gave it a good "break in" on Sunday by cooking an after Thanksgiving meal for 10 people. At one point we had 4 burners going and the double oven cooking in both places. Both items worked flawlessly! Our next major meal was a Christmas dinner where we did 200 homemade ravioli. The cooktop once again preformed exceptionally, heating water in 2 large pots fast and keeping them boiling for about two hours. If you are looking for a quality cooking surface, I recommend this cooktop without reservation. As far as cleaning, it has been fairly easy. The glass surface under the burners is easy to get clean with a bit of mild soap or spray cleaner. I don't use the special cleaning materials that came with the unit. As long as I get the surface cleaned I am not that worried if I cannot see my reflection on the glass surface. Get this cooktop and enjoy! I would recommend this product to a friend. by Robert_in_SacFair Oaks, CA | Mon, Jan 20, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag Verified PurchaseKenmore Pro 36" Slide-In Ceramic-Glass Gas Cooktop Let's Start Your Review Works very well and it was an easy install I would recommend this product to a friend. by cprzybylBergen, NY | Sun, Oct 27, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 2 visitors found this helpfulNot worth the money! difficult to clean and problematic! We had this slide in gas cook top installed last June when we built our new home and find it overall disappointing. First, it is nearly impossible to clean. We cook every day for a family of four, and by the end of the day it always needs cleaning. However, it cannot simply be wiped down. The owners manual devotes several pages to the proper cleaning instructions for each piece. Every type of material on the cook top requires a different type of cleaner. This is not only expensive, but tedious. Also, the front, left burner produces a "popping" sound every time it is in use for more than 5 minutes. The sound is extremely annoying. Guests have commented on it when they are at our home because it is so bothersome. Recently, the strongest burner also malfunctioned. The flame has become so big on this burner it is coming out the side. We will be having this product serviced after just 6 months of ownership. by emt23Spotsylvania, VA | Thu, Apr 4, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 5 visitors found this helpfulThis stove looks GREAT! This is a really nice looking stove. I have not had any trouble with the knobs, and this baby is so much easier to keep clean than my previous gas stove. My only complaint is that there is no easy way to use the two-burner griddle. First, the one that came with the stove is two small to fit over any two adjacent burners, the handles fall right in the middle of the fires - definitely not safe! Second, while I do have a larger griddle, even it only covers a set of front and back burners, no two of which on this stove have the same output or size, so it is difficult to get even heating. I have yet to find a griddle long enough to cover two side-by-side burners on this stove. I would recommend this product to a friend. by par80132Monument, CO | Fri, Apr 13, 2012 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 0 visitors found this helpfulSo far its great!!!!
