There is some kind of leak in the bottom which has now ruined our new floor infront of the dishwasher and because we didn't buy the protection plan when we bought it Kenmore or Sears will not fix the leak. The parts will cost us over $100 without labor. It is pretty sad that our new dishwasher already needs fixed and will do damage to our flooring. This is a NOISY dishwasher that does not clean dishes. It does not dry them either. And, there is a smell if you don't wash out the filter every time you run it. Then, if you don't run it for a couple of days the odor comes back - apparently from that filter. The turbo boost jets do nothing but add more noise. It won't dry the dishes for some reason and it leaves soap residue on the plates. But it has been reliabile for nearly four years. Currently the system is giving me an Er 01 code, which suggests that there is a water buildup in the base. I have removed the water and, I believe, the cause of the buildup -- some broken glass in the bottom. Unfortunately, there is no reset mechanism -- or at least there is none described in the owner's manual -- so I can't test whether it is working or not. Another perk? *It takes almost the same counter space as the dish rack did. Best of all: It uses only a tiny amount of water, compared to the very large amount I use in hand washing my dishes. This product: Kenmore 24" Portable Dishwasher - Black $560.99 1 visitors found this helpfulGreat time saver I was spending at least one hour per day washing dishes and baby bottles in our apartment so I was insistent that we get a dishwasher in our house. I'm glad we did. I like that the sides are black to match the front and that it looks like another counter in our corner. Its not that heavy to pull over to the sink. It also gets the dishes really really clean and sparkely- much better than by hand. I'm a little baffled that its an energy efficient machine when it takes over 1 hour to do a load but I try to save a bit by not using the heated dry. The top is also a decent size and the perfect height if I need to use it as an island for food prep. It was a little surprising the first few times when I heard the water emptying out into the sink but there is not really any way around that and I'm used to it now and besides the water emptying it is really quiet and I don't even notice it. It performs better than a cheap built in dishwasher I had a few years ago and it has plenty of space (more than my former built in!). I don't pre-rinse dishes, all I do is scrape the rests of food and all my dishes and cutlery come sparking clean. I don't use cheap detergent because I think it makes a big difference in the results. Also, in order to save $, I don't use the heat dry option, I just open the door when the cycle is done and most dishes dry in less than an hour. Dishes and cutlery come out cleaner and shinier than when I was doing them by hand. I have heard that some black dishwashers have white sides, this one has all black sides. I would recommend this dishwasher, way better than doing dishes by hand. Someone wrote a review a two weeks ago saying it isn't portable because there are no wheels. I can't find a way to reply to her review, but I purchased this dishwasher this week and there was a bag with the casters inside of the dishwasher with the instructions. The directions on my carton said to put the casters on before turning the dishwasher upright. If you're missing the wheels, you may want to contact Sears. The wheels were easy to install. I absolutely adore this dishwasher. I've only had it a few days, but it's already made life significantly easier; between working full-time, full-time school, and having a child, we were incredibly behind hand-washing everything, especially in a location with hard water. The faucet hook leaks slightly when hooked up, but the drip is so slow I'm okay with leaving it in overnight. The dishes come out perfectly clean despite going in a bit grungy. EASILY hooks up, easy to load, held my 6 piece dinner set (with dessert plates). Dishes clean, pans clean, glasses glow. And, although it said quiet, I was still expecting noise. This is the quietest DW I have ever used (built-ins and portables). I spent a lot of time reading reviews, comparing different brands and sizes. I can move it in my extremely small kitchen without a hassle. I like the two arms spraying water; like the varied types of washers - needed china and crystal and pots and pans. Previous one lasted 12+ years, so when it stopped working, got another one. New one has better cleaning power with the second spray arm and is so much quieter when running. A few minor minuses - hoses are frustrating to pull out and return (old model had flexible black hoses that slid in and out with no problem), bottom rack constantly wants to slide back into the cavity (frustrating to load when both hands are full with dirty dishes and you need another hand to pull the rack back out), and not knowing where it is in the cleaning cycle (old model had a dial so you knew what cycle it was in). Different configuration of the racks meant that I had to learn how to reload (you know how everything kind of has it's own place to go in the dishwasher?). Overall, happy with the dishwasher. The first one was bought just for the price (was the cheapest we could find in the color that we wanted)......lesson learned. The control board failed just shy of its third birthday and it would have cost almost as much to fix it as it would have to just buy a new one. So we opted to buy a new one, do more research, and buy the five year warranty this time. So far, this machine is doing it's job. It looks good, gets the dishes clean, and didn't completely break the bank. It is a little noisy, but we we were unable to use the insulation because the space was too tight. Also, please know this particular color is not stainless steel. It is more of a grey/silver. I was disappointed at first, but am actually more satisfied because the fingerprints are basically non-existent! We love that! The other machine was the shiny stainless it it showed everything, this one does not. I would recommend this dishwasher and found it to be a pretty good buy. I would recommend this product to a friend. by ChristyJo13East Liverpool, OH | Fri, Apr 25, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag This product is quiet and has a sleek look. I have enjoyed this dishwasher for about one month. It is quiet and cleans the dishes well. The main reason I gave it a overall score of four and not a five is the position of utensil basket. It makes it difficult to put tall utensils next to the soap dish. In addition, some of my utensils have a wide handle which does not fit into the narrows holes provided in the basket. by Aurora, | Tue, Apr 8, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag Runs quiet and the adjustable rakes make it very efficient . Happy wife! by Mikedish, | Thu, Mar 27, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 8 visitors found this helpfulVerified PurchaseVery good value The upper sprayer cleans and rinses the upper rack better than my old dishwasher which had a telescopic spray post. This make it so you can put larger pans in the middle of the lower and upper rack. It's a lot quiter than I expected, and does a very good job of cleaning dishes. I don't even rinse, just scrape and load, and almost every time everything is clean. I like the rinse agent guage that lets me know if it needs refilled. The clean light is the best idea ever (for those of you who have used dishes out of a dishwasher and later found they weren't clean!). The only thing I didn't really like was the soap latch. It has a small catch latch for the soap lid, which can be troublesome if you use powder dishsoap and spill it around the latch. Also, the operating manual could have been a little more informative. I would recommend this product to a friend. by bbakehorn, | Sat, Mar 15, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 3 visitors found this helpfulVerified Purch read more

View information provided by the manufacturer 1 visitors found this helpfulAppearance Fatally Flawed I did a lot of research before buying this dishwasher. It had most of the features I wanted, was not too expensive, had good reviews, and best of all, matched my black-appliance kitchen. Unfortunately, none of the descriptions or pictures of the unit included the fact that it has a large "Made in America" sticker on the front, as large as the Whirlpool logo and crookedly slapped on, THAT IS NOT REMOVABLE. This sticker is multicolored and destroys the look of the unit. I assumed the sticker would be easily peeled off and so let the unit be installed. I was wrong - it cannot be removed without damaging the surface of the door. This on a "designer" dishwasher?? I'm all in favor of products made in America, and I understand Whirlpool wanting to highlight that fact, but why am I forced to have this ugly sticker part of my kitchen decor?? I started out loving it, now I hate the way it looks. by Jay1924, | Sat, Apr 12, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 1 visitors found this helpfulOutstanding This machine is by far the quietest dishwasher we have ever owned. We moved into an open concept kitchen-dining room-family room home and sit mere feet from the dishwasher. Despite our proximity to it, we hear absolutely nothing. A great recommendation by our sales person. by dandy38, | Thu, Apr 10, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag Is it on??? We recently purchased and installed a Whirlpool dishwasher. Not only does this dishwasher conserve on water, using only a minimum of water to do a great cleaning, but it is soooo quiet that we have to put our ear toward the appliance to check that it is really on!! Love this dishwasher!!! by Kaelekulin2, | Wed, Apr 9, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag This dishwasher is good This dishwasher is very quiet when it is on that you don't even know it is running. It has lots of room on the top rack to hold all of your cups and glasses and some small bowls. The bottom rack however is a little limited. Tho it has adjustable tines and brags about being able to adjust the width from left to right to fit different sizes, it inhibits the proper aligning of your dishes. Also, having the utensil basket on the door is a great thing for freeing up more room in the lower rack, but for some reason if you over load the utensil rack in anyway, the silverware doesn't always come clean. by mommy1157, | Sun, Apr 6, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag Super quiet, less impressive silverware tray Overall I think this is a very good dishwasher. I installed it myself and it was pretty easy as I was replacing an existing one that died. It holds more dishes than our last one, mainly due to the different configurations that the trays can be put into. The only real complaint that I have I'd the silverware tray. I thought that I would really like the fact that it is on the door and doesn't take up space inside, however where it sits in relation to the rinse aid fill and soap container makes half of it only useable for pretty short items. Also, the openings to hold the silverware apart to keep the from "spooning" work great for forks and spoons, but our knives will only fit in the six largest slots and won't fit at all in the side under the soap container. But outside of that it has been very good and the other features in combination of how whisper quiet it is, far outweighs the few drawbacks. by ChadB, | Sat, Mar 29, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag Great dishwasher This W read more

JUNK! I bought this unit thinking I was buying not only one of the best dishwashers on the market but also the most environmentally friendly and a good brand. It's true the unit didn't 'dry' the dishes but I can live with that. My problem was it quit working entirely after 6 months. The electronic menu board gave an error message. My household consists of two working adults. The dishwasher is not used regularly. My 'top of the line' dishwasher has been down about two months and still no fix. The Sear's repair person come out 3 times and still has to make another trip to see if he can get it operational. I'm very disappointed in Bosch and Sears. (The mechanism that is supposed to drain this water doesn't do the job.) The dishwasher often gives off a sickly smell of decaying food, like the dumpster behind a restaurant. The filters need to be cleaned constantly, an unpleasant and time-consuming process, since they acquire a sticky, gummy surface residue. It is all more effort than it is worth. After little more than a year of use, we will probably cart this machine to the dump and buy a new one. It won't be a Bosch. by FulvousSeattle, WA | Sat, Jul 30, 2011 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 6 visitors found this helpfulDO NOT BUY THIS! The features are great, however I really dislike a few things: First, the design of the rolling lower basket. The basket miss-aligns and falls off track if you do not really pay attention to how you push the rack back into the unit. When this happens, all the dishes crash together causing an opportunity for damage. It is also very difficult to get the rack back on track if the rack (cart) falls while fully loaded with dishes. Secondly; this unit never fully rinses well. Many times I end up hand washing the dishes. I have tried most all detergents and rinse products on the market. And, the third issue is the spacing in the racks do not align well for many of my plates and bowls. Else, the product looks great and is real quiet. I just find it lacks that ability to wash well. I would not recommend this model to others. by Anonymous, | Sun, Jan 26, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag This is a very good dishwasher. This is a very good dishwasher. Sometimes the dishes do not clean fully and a redo is necessary the reason for 4 stars. That is the disappointing thing. We picked it because it wasn't too tall, would fit in our opening and is white. The best part about this is how quiet it is and the water efficiency. Having to school my kids 4+ hours, take care of the little one, plus stand there at the kitchen sink and do dishes for a family of 5 is unacceptable to me. Who really wants to shop for a new dishwasher? It is one of our little luxuries in life. With so many choices out there, how do you decide? Well, for starters, if you only remember one thing, remember this - know what YOU want your dishwasher to do and shop for one that performs THOSE tasks! There are so many brands and so many features (many that I find frivolous), that you have to shop for YOUR NEEDS! For me, I was looking for Quality, Brand Reputation and Simplicity...pretty simple requirements. I shopped and compared...oh boy, did I shop and compare! For what I was looking for - WASH, DRY, SANITIZE and NYLON covered rack surfaces - this was just right for the price! I don't care about the "eco" settings or even the "1-hour wash," "Over-night wash" or delay feature (although I have used this once or twice and it is pretty nifty!) :) The only difference between this one and the "Gold" version is the stainless steel tub - mine does NOT have this. I did NOT want it due to hard water and the staining that can occur in these, not to mention I have heard rumors they will melt any plastic or tupperware type items you put in there. Oh and the buttons may be on the top, but I didn't care about this. I could not be happier with my choice and I compared MANY brands - some costing much more. My dishes are finally sparkling clean! I do use Quantum tabs, a liquid gel for pre-wash and a rinse aid. It is not totally unaudible but it is super quiet! We have a Kitchen/Family room concept (dishwasher about 10 feet from closest seating surface) and it is not a sound issue at all! Sure, you can hear it running, but it is not annoying at all. My two fish tank filters in the family room are lounder - as a comparison. Honestly, my ONLY con ~ I wish it could remember my choice of wash settings - Normal + High-Temp Wash + Sani-Rinse + High Heat Dry (see, told you I didn't care about the eco settings) - when a cycle is complete but I have to push these 4 buttons every time. Oh well! No real biggie. Love it! Made the right decision - for me! Highly recommend! by KountryKat, | Thu, Apr 10, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag As promised.

We are trying to stay on a budget, so this, basically, was the most affordable stainless dishwasher we could find. It's not rated as one of the quietest dishwashers you can buy, but we really haven't noticed the noise being an issue. That may be different for some others. We haven't run it a whole lot, but at this point we're partially pleased with the cleaning quality. We've had some issues with dirtier dishes and some utensils not getting completely clean. For the cost though, it's not a bad pick. Had it delivered and had some friends over to help with the install. First off, everything is inside the machine for shipping, and it is not readily apparent how to open it. I pulled on it but it did not open; eventually I removed what appeared to be a small clip on the top that was inserted into the door. Luckily I didn't throw it away, because that is in fact the latch. There is no lever like my old one to lock the door, you just close it and latches automatically. There should definitely be some kind of sticker on that to guide you. We had no other major surprises during the install. Note that this does not come with everything you need. I would suggest getting the install kit, but you may also need various small items like hose clamps (depending on your drain situation) and components for hooking up the electric. All that said, once installed, this dishwasher works very well. The adjustable top rack is a nice feature, but even better is the top rack only wash feature. The other good feature is having the silverware holder on the door instead of the bottom, this adds a significant amount of space for larger items on the bottom rack. My only other quibble is that the directions seem to be for all Whirlpool dishwashers. They are not specific to the model. This seems like a generally bad idea to me. The main part of the dishwasher that has me somewhat unhappy is that it takes hrs to do a simple load and leaves a bad smell every once and awhile. I installed it myself, and because of this, I was able to see how much thought and quality Samsung put into this dishwasher. For example, you can adjust the rear legs with a screw placed in the front of the dishwasher. The adjustable top rack is a great feature. The lower rack still fits standard sized dinner plates when the upper rack is in the lowest position. The rack design is where this dishwasher really excels. We are able to store TWO Christmas dinner's for 5, along with all the snack and drink glassed that were consumed and still had room for more. I estimate that this unit holds more than two times what the old dishwasher held and still washes better. My one complaint would be how wet the dishes were after the wash cycle. After reading the advice from Samsung, we went out and bought some rinse aid (Jet Dry). It makes a world of difference! We have dry exceptionally dry dishes now!
