Kitchenaid Wall Ovens

Whether you choose gas or electric, a wall oven is a smart choice for a small kitchen. When paired with a separate cooktop, a wall oven allows for maximum design flexibility as it can be placed almost anywhere. These smart appliances also reduce stress on the back by putting the oven door at a height that requires less bending over.

This product: KitchenAid 27" Built-In Combination Wall Oven w/ True Convection - Stainless Steel $3329.1 1 visitors found this helpfulGorgeous oven. We've had this oven for about 6 weeks. There's a learning curve since we've never had a convection oven before. First off, it's gorgeous. It is a beautiful oven and makes our kitchen look so classy and modern. I absolutely love the looks of it. So many bells and whistles we've yet to learn yet. Important: The oven takes around 10-15 minutes to preheat to the selected temperature however, it is not heated completely although the display says it is. I purchased an oven thermometer and if the oven is preheated to 350 degrees, the oven thermometer says 275 degrees. It eventually gets to 350 but takes around 20-30 minutes longer. That was confusing to me so I did make a service appt and the tech explained that's the way they make ovens now. "Energy efficient". He tested the oven and it was working perfectly but he said that when the oven is preheated to the desired temperature, go by the oven thermometer instead and plan to have the oven heat for an additional 25 minutes to reach the correct temperature. That seems really stupid. But that's what we'll do from now on. If you buy this oven, also buy a good, reliable oven thermometer. You will need it. Other info: 1. After using the microwave and it finishes, the fan continues to run until you open the door or hit cancel. That's a head scratcher because we see no point in that. It's the microwave. It's rather a loud fan too. So if you heat something in the microwave, you need to be readily available to remove it or the fan continues to run endlessly. 2. When you're done cooking with the oven and the oven is off, the fan in the oven will run forever unless you open the oven door to cool off the oven quicker. One night I left it to see how long it would take to turn off and after 40 minutes, I gave up and opened the oven door. Now if you leave the oven door open after turning off the oven, it cools off enough in about 10 minutes or so and the fan will turn off. The fan is pretty loud in the oven too. 3. If you put something in the microwave to heat up say 10 minutes later, the microwave won't start and will tell you to open the door and close it and then you can start the microwave. 4. Using convection cooking browns and crisps food better than using the regular oven. 5. Tools function lets you calibrate the oven temperature. Volume control for alerts or you can turn off sounds. 6. 3 racks with 6 rack choice adjustments. So all in all, I love the oven. I would definitely recommend it but be aware of the preheat issue. I would recommend this product to a friend. by crcrcrcRancho Santa Margarita, CA | Wed, Apr 2, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 16 visitors found this helpfulTHE REPLACEMENT WE REALLY LIKE THIS OVEN/MICROWAVE COMBO AND GET MANY COMPLIMENTS ON THE UNIT. Looks nice, but some annoying issues Love the way this oven looks, perfect size, and the added cooking features inside the microwave are nice, but there are some annoying features and quality issues. First, I hate that the microwave fan keeps running after the cook time has expired, I have never seen a microwave do this. Second, you CANNOT change the lower oven temperature on-the-fly, you have to hit Cancel (basically turn the oven off) and restart it with the new desired temperature. I thought this was an actual defect so I called a technician to look at it and he said that's they way this newest model works now, something to do with software programming issues. Third, this combo need a second timer! I hate having just a single timer. And the timer itself makes a very annoying chime sound when finished, I wish it could be changed like you can do with a ringtone on a phone. Finally, the quality is not exactly what I expected from a high-end name like Kitchenaid. For example, the convection fan started rattling at certain intervals immediately after it was installed. I decided to check the tightness of the screws in the bowtie-shaped panel around the convection fan and sure enough one of the screws was loose and there was a gap in the panel until I tightened it. What's up with that! Also, the blue painted finish around the circular convection fan area started fading and has completely come off within 6-7 uses. I am already receiving a new part under warranty. Lastly, the oven door closes with a bit of a rattle/clunk. Not very quality sounding. The technician said it's normal. I know this is the same company as Whirlpool and Maytag, and probably built on the exact same assembly line (if you look at the manual you will the the specs and dimensions are identical) but it would be nice if they could have gone the extra mile to make this oven a little more solid feeling. I think you are only paying for the name here, and maybe for the extra features in the microwave and the gliding shelf. Still, I don't think it was worth paying an extra $1,000 for these few features, but I do like the oven overall, it's just not 5-star worthy (yet). Technology delivers innovative performance so you won?t have to rotate pans or use baking stones". NOT TRUE. Our cookies and pies were burning at the edges so we called Whirlpool customer service. They told us to "rotate the pans"!! I followed up with Whirlpool customer service and they told me that the Whirlpool engineers know that "the edge of the oven will always be hotter than the center due to radiant heat off the oven walls and circulating heat". EvenHeat Technology is NOT WORTH the extra money. by UnEvenHeatMissoula, MT | Mon, Jul 22, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 18 visitors found this helpful Awesome I love my new oven/microwave combo. It is beautiful, and the controls are intuitive. I'll start with the oven, then the convection microwave. The oven is simply a work of art. Blue inside, and what I love best about it is that the lights are very bright. When the oven light is off, the glass looks black. When you turn it on, the inside is as bright as a room, and you can see everything cooking. It is like art, and I love to watch it. The oven temps are dead on, and it works well as a convection oven as well as standard. The correction temp program for the convection oven works great, and the probe was dead on when I made a roast. I thought the microwave would be inconvenient because you open it like an oven, and my kids complained, but we have gotten used to it and its fine. The handles match my refrigerator, and they feel really good on my hands when I open the oven. Very ergonomically well thought out. Very very nice. Do Not Buy! This deathtrap was installed as part of a new home purchase. I foolishly "upgraded" from the perfectly fine standard model to get this beautiful looking piece of garbage and it has never worked even once. The oven has actually only been turned on a couple of times. It becomes so hot without any indication of temperature that it is dangerous and can't be used. The temperature sensor and control panel are defective. The oven displays "preheating" on the outside panel but gets to temperatures over 550 degrees. I've had two warranty service technician visits and multiple parts ordered but no oven to use. The technicians advised that the electrical panel to the oven should be disconnected because it is unsafe. "True" Convection baking feature seems to really work, with no burned cookie bottoms, and with moist, fluffy cakes. Built-in conversion for convection time/temp seems to be just right. We were concerned about reports of hot air from front vents, but this does not seem to be a problem. The fan does stay on for awhile after shut-down, but not too noisy. Some rattling noise from removable racks while fan is on, and you can hear this more with door open on cool-down. Oven is solid, with heavy door and full glass view, great interior bilateral lights that can be turned on with button to view inside without opening door. I added a couple additional mounting screws to secure upper front of stove to cabinet, as it is a bit front-heavy with door open, and the two small screws at mid-point on either side seem marginal. Only requires a 20-amp breaker, so seems pretty efficient and heats up reasonably fast. A bell rings when temp. up. The temperature probe is useful but not for potatoes as it can only measure up to an internal temperature of 190 degrees. I would recommend this product to a friend. by jgraff26Fremont, CA | Thu, Mar 14, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 8 visitors found this helpful Cook'n No complaints about the performance of the oven, which, of course, is the most important thing. It heats evenly and I enjoy that aspect. However, I could not recommend it because: 1. It is nearly impossible to remove the cover of the 4 lights to replace the bulbs. Began using the oven about 3 years ago and 3 of the 4 lights have burned out. Nearly impossible to find replacement bulbs, also. 2. In the upper oven the side walls are too tight to slide the rack on in the middle position, the one used most frequently. The first full-size built-in oven with steam-assist technology, which eliminates the need for manual steps such as spritzing or ba...sting. And with dual-fan convection, this oven promotes even airflow for consistent cooking on all three racks. Consistent cooking... Do not buy this oven Sensor broke on steam line after 3 months which renders oven unusable. (I had never even used steam function) Repairman here for 2nd time trying to repair. Oven also difficult to install due to the large size of the water filter. Hard to find a place to put it that is easily accessible. I was told that the salesperson that the steam function could be disconnected, but this is not true. Must have water in the reserve for the oven to work. Finally, factory provided water connection to oven/filter leaked and we had to have the connections soldered. I whish I could get my money back and buy a regular oven without steam. by JulieWubFullerton, CA | Fri, Feb 28, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag read more

This sleekly designed double oven with true convection features a time and temperature conversion system in the upper oven. You si...mply enter your conventional cooking time and temperature, and the oven makes the precise conversion, offering you professional, even results... This product: KitchenAid Architect® 24" Double Wall Oven w/ True Convection $2519.1 Displeased An enormous of amount of heat is generated into your kitchen while you are cooking AND for 20+ minutes after you turn the oven off. I understand this is how the oven cools itself, but it's like having a heater blowing. And it's not quiet. There is a distinct hum from the time you turn it on until it has completely cooled. The oven cooks hotter in the front than the back, so you need to rotate your items to keep cooking even. Haven' tried the convection feature yet. While the oven is beautiful, I would not recommend it. by befrbaDallas, TX | Sun, Feb 9, 2014 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 2 visitors found this helpful A great oven for a narrow space I needed a 24" double oven and wanted to upgrade. I really like this oven. The convection is a time saver for baking and potatoes. The button controls are easy to use and fairly obvious. I love having a timer on the oven instead of using the timer on my microwave. There are plenty of racks. The instructions do mention a grid and a roasting pan which have been removed from the product but not updated in the instructions. Kitchenaid service was very friendly and helpful and explained what happened to them. In fact I loved Kitchenaid service as they were knowledgeable, friendly and prompt. I only fumble finger two things. One is the START on the oven, I keep hitting the STOP UPPER OVEN button instead. And the timer is only minutes not seconds, which has caused me to burn a batch of cookies that I wanted to cook for 11.30 and cooked for 11:30 instead.
