It was installed easily by the contractor who put in our new Pental Quartz kitchen counters and glass backsplash. It looks great and works well especially the "power burner" which heats a teapot of water very quickly. Clean up is so easy. Our new kitchen looks great and the Kenmore cooktop is a big part of that. Delivery was super fast and came the next day after I placed the order. We have had no issues with it's functions in any way, however, after two years of use the markings on the stovetop (indicating flame, on/off, etc) have worn away and are no longer visible on the stovetop. Fortunately I know how to use my stove but anyone else that may come over and need to use it will not know because of the missing marks. The first thing we noticed was th contruction was not as sturdy as our previous cooktop by Kenmore. The paint job on the cooktop was missing paint in places and thin. The automatic pilot was great though as now we could ignite the burners easier, however the real test came with the cooking. This cooktop has knobs that give you a range from high to medium to low. But realistically, there is no true medium. Either the temperture is too hot or too low, which is a real problem cooking. It is a lot like those portable one burner cooking appliances where temperature range is concerned. The other problem is, the burner grates come off too easily. If you move the pan you can dislodge the grate and burn yourself or cause a fire. I do not recommend purchasing this particular cooktop. by itmaidenPocahontas, AR | Tue, Mar 22, 2011 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag read more

The **** markings, including Kenmore brand logo, are already gone. I only used a little warm soapy water and a soft cloth to clean it. The stainless steel scratches very easily. Although it functioned fine, I would not recommend buying this cooktop. I'm now replacing it with something else. I've used Kenmore products for 30 years and this is my first reject. by DiploqueenPittsboro, NC | Wed, Sep 11, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag Good Burner Performance, Poor Finish I purchased this cooktop in September of 2012 as part of a total kitchen remodel. I originally purchased a slightly cheaper kenmore cooktop but sears sent this model after it was found the original cooktop I purchased was no longer available. The associate assured me the model 3242 was a better cooktop that would be easier to clean. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We have had a few minor spills that will only come off with mild abrasives which end up scratching the stainless finish. Also, after only two months the labels on the burner knobs started to rub off when wiped only with a wet rag. The cooktop burners perform well but I do not recommend purchasing due to the poor durability of the finish. It does function in that it turns on and has the expected flame. However, it is so poorly designed that it is hazardous. The control knobs heat up to such a degree when the cooktop is on that they are way too hot to touch with bare hands. An accidental burn is a decided probability. I needed an oven mitt to turn the burner off. This is dangerous and it is thoroughly inexcusable to sell this product.

Save yourself the headcahe and dont buy this model. by katkat2004Los Angeles, CA | Wed, May 22, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 5 visitors found this helpful Hard to clean After installation we had to have one burner replaced as it stopped lighting. The black surface shows everything and it does not come clean...baked on deposits do not come clean. Otherwise it works fine and I like the 5 burners. by namastewomanSpringville, TN | Wed, Mar 20, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 2 visitors found this helpful 36" gas cooktop Great cooktop... The cooktop looks beautiful and works great. I like the power burner being in the front and the simmer burner in the back. Cleans up nicely. by lesanyaLakeport, CA | Mon, Nov 12, 2012 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 8 visitors found this helpfulEfficient Ive had this for 8 months now and i love it. The grates are sturdy heavy and easy to clean. I have 2 cons to consider when you purchase. 1) The paint on the knobs are already wearing off and 2) The burner for normal heating cook time is located in the center far back of the range, making it a tad inconvenient. The front two are a rapid boil which and the other is a dual r read more

Had Sears service come out and they found the filter board had gone bad. $1,400+ to fix it. Paid 1,500 for the unit in the first place. Also LEDs have gone bad on it too so some elements are hard to read. Can't even find parts to replace those. Pretty crappy stuff. Cannot recommend anyone buy one of these. by DocCoderHaslet, TX | Sat, Nov 30, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 1 visitors found this helpfulBeware of the quality - very poor design. This unit has a design flaw that will blow a fuse on the main control board. To repair, expect to spend $600 if you do it yourself or more for service to deal with it for you. Expect to pay this every 4 to 5 years. If you do purchase, buy the extended warranty and keep the number handy as you WILL have to call! Induction is great and if you can afford a new stovetop every 5 years, go for it. by Lennyels, | Fri, Nov 1, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag Verified Purchaselove induction this is the second induction cooktop I have an I love both of them. it heats up so fast and cooks wonderfully. it is easy to clean with stove top cleaner. I won't go back to gas. I would recommend this product to a friend. by cowboybill1957Kihei, HI | Fri, Nov 1, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 5 visitors found this helpfulDO NOT BUY!!!! THIS IS MY SECOND "DEAD" INDUCTION COOKTOP. THE FIRST ONE DIED RIGHT AFTER MY FIVE YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED. THIS ONE DIED AFTER ONLY SEVEN MONTHS. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT IT IS COVERED BY BOTH THE MANUFACTUERS WARRANTY AND AN EXTENDED WARRANTY . . . SO IN A WEEK, MAYBE, I'LL BE ABLE TO COOK AGAIN. I. WILL. NEVER. BUY. ANOTHER. KENMORE. INDUCTION. COOKTOP. NEVER, EVER! AND YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER. THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE. by JohnofAustinAustin, TX | Wed, Jun 12, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 5 visitors found this helpful DO NOT BUY I purchased this year and 1/2 ago, worked great up till a few days ago. Now it has a error code on the range resulting in it not working at all just blinks error. Called Sears service tech, he tells me be ready for a heavy bill as the unit is basicaly like a computer. Then tells me it may cost more to repair and you may want to buy a new unit and went on to say it will just keep having issues if I do fix it. So now I have a $1500 paper weight and I'm going to buy a new NON-Induction unit. DO NOT BUY!!!!! by HANK1535Burt, MI | Fri, Mar 8, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 8 visitors found this helpful Read this before buying. Induction technology is amazing. You will not be disappointed by the performance, short term. Do your homework, look at other Kenmore induction ranges. The high reviews are because there is no other stove that compares, the low reviews are that they all tend to fail before their reasonable life should expire, 5-7 years, which is typically outside of the extended warranty period. If you are okay with spending 2K on a stove that will last 5-7 years, buy it . If not, look elsewhere. by LicensedArchitectPort Townsend, WA | Mon, Feb 25, 2013 Was this helpful?YesNo 0 comments | flag 5 visitors found this helpful Induction Cooking This is a great cooktop.
