Centuries ago, when this tea was only reserved for the privileged Chinese and was traditionally buried in the soil in order to cre...ate its unique taste, nobody would have been able to imagine that this black tea would once develop industrial dimensions, not to think of an organic version. Thanks to special techniques and the necessary demand, this is now possible. We have selected a very well-established quality which is absolutely remarkable due to its dark-brown leaf and a strong, spicily-earthy taste. Depending on the brewing time and dosage, an infusion with earthy, woody flavor and a darkly red-brown cup is the result. read more

A great loose leaf pu erh, our young pu erh tea leaves are picked, rolled, and withered in the hot sun. Afterward, the tea is stea...med and pressed into cakes. It is then broken up out of the cakes to make it easier to deal with. The steaming process creates some moisture, and when the cakes are compressed without drying, the tea takes on a musty, earthy character. Pu erh that gets slightly moldy before drying is actually considered the best. As with wine, pu erh tends to get more valuable as it ages, and pu erh that is 5 years or older is more rare, and therefore, more highly prized. This delicate tea boasts a hint of mustiness with elemental notes. A study in japan indicated that all teas lower cholesterol, but that pu erh is more effective than green tea. Some followers of "Chinese tea for health" believe that pu erh can "cut the grease, help digestion, promote body fluid secretion, quench the thirst, invigorate the spleen, and dispel alcoholic toxins." for the best brew, we recommend this young pu-erh steep in water that has been brought to a rolling boil for 2-10 minutes. read more
