Philippe Starck's Miss K Table Lamp (2003) has fast become Flos Lighting's best-selling product for its functionality-based dual aesthetic. When unlit, the polycarbonate lampshade shows subtle detail with a dark metallic tint. When lit, the... lamp appears almost like an x-ray, with the bulb starkly visible behind the now-clear illuminated shade. The fluid pedestal base of the lamp is clear at all times. An on-cord dimmer takes the light from 0-100% luminosity for an atmospheric glow to a reading-appropriate brightness. The lamp's compact scale is suited to small tables and busy worktops.
