The Emile Henry Flame Pizza Stone superbly cooks brick oven style pizzas in home ovens and on outdoor grills. Innovative proprietary Flame technology allows the stone to work directly on gas, charcoal, natural wood or electric grill cooking... surfaces up to 750 F. The 14" ceramic round stone goes in conventional and convection ovens and under the broiler and fits a standard 25 1/2" round grill. The Emile Henry pizza stone absorbs moisture from the pizza dough while distributing heat evenly throughout the pizza so the pie doesn't burn on the bottom before the toppings have cooked. A special micro-crazed glazing ensures crispy well-baked crusts, and unlike other pizza stones, this one leaves no food, stains or odors. You can cut pizzas right on the stone without damaging the surface. The Emile Henry pizza stone heats up in about 15 minutes compared to nearly an hour on some stones. Lightweight with large handles for easy carrying, the stone is naturally nonstick and dishwasher-safe. Founded in 1850 by the Henry family in France's mineral-rich burgundy clay region, today Emile Henry is the largest manufacturer of ceramic ovenware in France. The Flame process is a proprietary manufacturing process that is more resistant to thermal shock, mechanical shock or chipping and crazing than other ceramic products, including porcelain, stoneware and earthenware.
