Design Within Reach Skagen Coffee Table
Inspired by the mid-century designs of Arne Hovmand-Olsen, we created the Skagen Table Collection (2009), which includes this Coffee Table, as well as a set of two Nesting Tables. The smooth edges and tapered shapes of the Coffee Table reca...ll the popular "surfboard" tables of the 1960s, and there's an elegance in how the tabletop appears to hover over the frame, supported by simple brass spacers. The lower shelf creates convenient storage, and two ends are finished with slightly sculpted shapes, maintaining flow from one part to the next. Made in U.S.A. The lower shelf on this table has a lip on all four sides to keep books and magazines in place. At 50" wide, this coffee table fits nicely with a variety of sofa sizes. The Skagen Collection also includes Nesting Tables (set of 2). As with any natural material, slight variations in the texture and color of the wood are to be expected and are not defects.
