Sleep in a Field of Flowers
Going natural has never been easier. The selection of floral sheets sprouts a few dozen new varieties every year, so you're sure to find the flower of your dreams on bed coverings of all styles.
Be aware, however, that like a floral perfume, an overabundance can become overpowering. The simple lines of pop art in sure-but-gentle tones in an allover pattern, like the pattern shown here, can be used generously without causing eye strain. Bedrooms with modern-style furniture provide the best backdrop for this style.
To cover a humble bedframe, use another flat sheet left untucked to fall from the box springs to the floor. The continuous pattern has the look of a field of flowers.
This headboard is made from real green bamboo that's been lashed together with twine and hung on the wall. You can buy 4-foot lengths of green bamboo at garden centers (you'll need about 40 pieces to make a 60-inch-wide, full-size headboard). Or buy lengths of pre-made bamboo, reed, or grass fencing, also available at garden centers.
