Asian Chicken Wing Dinner

Make weeknight dinner fast and easy. Here's a main course recipe and three suggestions for rounding it out into a complete meal. Find out how to effortlessly dress up starters, sides, and desserts to fit the meal's main course.

The Menu

Five-Spice Chicken Wings have the exotic flavors of five-spice powder and plum sauce. Turn this appetizer into a real meal by adding side dishes. The recipe makes 16 appetizer portions -- dinner for four easily. Adding Chinese Broccoli as a vegetable and rice tossed with chopped cilantro makes the meal. Keep oyster sauce and sesame seeds on hand to spice up any Asian meal. Finishing with oranges and fortune cookies turns your home into a Chinese restaurant.

Five-Spice Chicken Wings

Cilantro Rice

Add chopped fresh cilantro to a bowl of steaming hot rice.

Steamed Chinese (or regular) Broccoli with Oyster Sauce and Sesame Seeds

Look for Chinese broccoli in large grocery stores or any Asian market. Steam or cook for 2 minutes in boiling water. Drain, and place on platter. Drizzle with oyster sauce and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Regular broccoli is an easy substitution.

Orange Wedges and Fortune Cookies

Cut navel oranges into wedges and place on a platter with fortune cookies, just like in all the restaurants in Chinatown.
