Slow-Cooker Meatball Dinner
Make weeknight dinner fast and easy. Here's a main course recipe and three suggestions for rounding it out into a complete meal. Find out how to effortlessly dress up starters, sides, and desserts to fit the meal's main course.
- Meatball and Vegetable Stew (see recipe below)
- Peas with Fried Onions
- Parsley Noodles
- Peaches and Raspberry Preserves
This saucy, hearty stew is great over Parsley Noodles. Crunchy Fried Onions are a tasty treat with peas, and Peaches with Raspberry Preserves are a summery dessert all year long. Keep fried onions, canned peaches, and raspberry preserves on hand to make these sides with any dinner.
Cook frozen peas according to package direction. Stir in a dollop of butter. Spread fried onion rings on a plate and microwave for 35 seconds to crisp. Sprinkle on peas.
In the summer, you can get great peaches. Peel them by dunking them in boiling water for 1 minute, then easily remove skin. Cut in half and drizzle with warmed raspberry preserves. When good fresh peaches aren't in season, use canned or thawed frozen peaches. They're very flavorful also.
