Quick Breads

Homemade bread doesn't mean an all-day effort -- these breads all take 30 minutes or less.

Twisted Cranberry Bread

Twisted Cranberry Bread While the machine mixes, kneads, and lets the dough rise, you can stir up the cranberry filling.

A Basic Sweet Bread Whether it is fruity or chocolatey, design a loaf to perfectly satisfy your sweet tooth. Simply mix and match some of your favorite flavors from the options below, and follow these guidelines for the proper procedures and ingredient proportions.

Bavarian Christmas Bread Similar to many sweets sold in the Christmas markets of southern Germany, this fruit-and-nut-studded loaf tastes great with coffee or traditional Gluhwein (glew-vighn), a mulled wine.

Strawberry-Banana Bread Strawberry preserves add sweetness and flavor to a yeast-banana bread. Serve the loaf freshly made with a fruited chicken salad for a weekend lunch--and toast leftovers for a teatime treat.

Chocolate Pistachio Bread Vibrant green pistachios dot this light, moist, chocolatey loaf. The yummy chocolate glaze is not mandatory, of course, but is highly recommended! Sprinkle with additional pistachios, if you like.

Mustard Rye Bread Stone-ground mustard gives zip to this flavorful rye. Its dense, even texture makes it sandwich-worthy. Wrap a slice around a grilled hotdog or brat for a super summertime meal.

Bacon and Tomato Bread For a perfect BLT, start with this bread that has bacon and tomato already baked into it.

Country Seed Bread This whole-wheat bread also has soy flour and flax, sesame, and poppy seeds.

Multigrain Sourdough Bread A good choice for sandwiches, this chewy loaf boasts cornmeal and three kinds of flour--white, wheat, and rye. What makes it really stand out is a subtle licorice flavor from the fennel seed.
